  1. Thank you. I shall definitely investigate
  2. About to watch it, after the rugby. Anything with Sorey for me. Intrigued to hear if they slip in. Motian tune...
  3. Prompted by the LP reissue appearing in listings recently? Thought long and hard and stuck with the CD not least as I don't how legit the The Roundtable issue is Lucky enough to see that band in London
  4. all the talk of the Hemphill boxset finally prompted me to pick this up
  5. Did you hear this? https://corysmythepyroclastic.bandcamp.com/album/accelerate-every-voice Not the same at all, but... I hear that
  6. Isn't that what used to called "a mash up"? Stuck on Roomful Of Teeth's (great name for a vocal group) 'Render'
  7. yeah, I read that splurge on his website where it also says, " the pursuit of transformative catharsis via the assimilation of seemingly oppositional forces. This pursuit takes many forms and extends logically into a genre-fluid, collage-based musical language, a lack of stylistic bias and an emphasis on emotional directness and dramatic gesture often rooted in the highly personal"
  8. Never heard of him but your post piqued my interest so listening to 'Dido's Lament (Revisited)' as an introduction. Not what i expected although I don't know what i expected. Which pieces have you listened to?
  9. Yes I would be prepared to do that. If my vaccination at a lower efficacy helps create a situation where overall infection rates are reduced then I'm all for that. Lower community infection rates will mean less pressure on health services, less deaths and crucially fewer variants (as it appears that the virus mutates in areas with high community infection). Put another way, I'll be a lot happier with 62% protection than with the 0% I have at the moment. And yes, give the healthcare workers the strongest protection possible - we owe them that at the very least.
  10. Yeah, I thought so too I've just contacted him to see about shipping to the UK, at the moment his website checkout has a flat shipping fee of 2 euros which can't be right
  11. Let us know what they reply
  12. Why not email them and ask them? They've always been friendly and approachable when I've communicated with them. I think we know that the Rivers estate dictated no download version (can't remember where I read this or maybe I just imagined it) so there may be other restrictions including presenting them as a box set
  13. But Frisell is only on The Marvels two albums not the other BNs
  14. I do. I didn't convert to CDs for a while because of their price
  15. And I have it. But his return was with "Wild Man Dance " in 2015 since when we've had "8:Kindred Spirits Live" on BN
  16. LP1 "I Talk With The Spirits" I love how this edition sounds. So pleased I was extravagant on New Years Eve (no alcohol involved whatsoever )
  17. It was for the "new" BN and I don't think he's been away since as his subsequent releases have been on the label so not sure what the return is except a better way of saying "again"
  18. In the spirit of research and adventure perhaps?
  19. I thought similarly. I think the abuse was outlined in the autobio but can't remember who the victim was/were. from his wiki page fwiw " The relationship involved numerous incidents of Davis' domestic violence towards Taylor. He later wrote, "Every time I hit her, I felt bad because a lot of it really wasn't her fault but had to do with me being temperamental and jealous."[118][119][120] One reason for his behavior was that in 1963 he had increased his use of alcohol and cocaine to reduce joint pain caused by sickle cell anemia" referencing abuse of Frances Taylor. and then, same source " in 2013, The A.V. Club published an article titled "Miles Davis beat his wives and made beautiful music,"[249] In the article, writer Sonia Saraiya praises Davis as a musician, but criticizes him as a person, in particular, his abuse of his wives.[249] Others, such as Francis Davis, have criticized his treatment of women, describing it as "contemptible".[231] " No explicit reference to Cicely Tyson as a victim of such behaviour.
  20. The inflated vinyl price is down to it being released as part of the Tone Poet series...ho hum
