  4. Jimmy Giuffre - Piece For Clarinet And String Orchestra/Mobiles [Verve]
  5. The Rolf And Joachim Kuhn Quartet - Impressions Of New York [Impulse/abc] I've not played this in years and I don't know why as it's a great listen. All four musicians really shine. I need to hear more Rolf Kuhn in a similar style. Any recommendations?

  11. Great, thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Purchase now imminent
  12. How did you find that Brad? Your post prompted me to check it out. Interesting premise intrigues but reviews seem a bit cool about the 'horror' elements
  13. Anna Hogberg Attack - s/t [Omlott]
  14. Clarke-Boland Big Band - KPM Jazz Conventions [Trunk Records] Bingo! Thanks Sidewinder. Worth the entry price for the flute playing Uum Mannie Umm alone

  16. I've wondered about that in the past as it's not really somewhere you'd necessarily choose to take a rest. That'd be a bedroom, surely...
  17. Chico Hamilton - And The Players [Blue Note] enjoying this new arrival a lot, with thanks to Hutchfan for his recent promotion/posting of this and 'Peregrinations'. Oddly, or not, parts of it makes me think of Prime Time

    Chick Corea

I agree with this. I bought them having similarly 'rediscovered' The Paris Concert
  19. Yeah, there are copies on Discogs. Be good to support a real shop if it works out. They had Jym Young's Puzzle Box and a couple of other titles not regularly spotted
  20. Got to hope I can persuade them to mailorder it to me then...
  21. Adasiewicsz is a real talent as far as I hear. He's adventurous and catholic in his collaborations but also runs a couple of great bands, his trio Sun Rooms and quintet Rolldown. He can be found on very good albums by Jason Stein, Joshua Abrams, Mike Reed amongst others (as Hot Ptah points out, all of whom are active in the amazingly vibrant Chicago scene). I first came across him on Rob Mazurek recordings. As for Nicole Mitchell, well she can do no wrong in my book. The 'Aquarius' album is very fine not least for bringing her together with Adasiewicsz. I'll let everyone get on with discussing the BFT now. Apologies.
  22. Happy vinyl-spinning Birthday!! I hope you've unwrapped something suitably flat and black...
  23. I'm pleased someone else holds it in such high regard
