  1. No, I thought about it and then forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder. If you don't already know Kjaer and Hoberg's own releases they're worth a look. Kjaer has a Clean Feed trio disc with your favourite British rhythm section https://cleanfeed-records.com/product/dobbeltgaeenger/
  2. Sounds very interesting. I'll take a look. The Threadgill's great Edit to add: taken a look. Some very interesting younger players on that set - Kjaer, Hogberg, Santos Silva and others I've not heard of. Very tempting
  3. I always enjoy this. A stand out in his discography, as far as I'm concerned And this, a little ambitious at two CDs but a good effort nonetheless
  4. giving this another try. Liking it a bit more this time, the vocals seem more integrated than on previous listens One day I will own a copy of that. Until then it's YT for me too. Love it

Similar here. I've gone back a couple of times and got a bit further each time but it's the only MH album I've not instantly taken a shine too. I'm a fan of Akinmusire too so was looking forward to hearing them together - I'm not giving up though...
  6. Having listened to the samples, I'm in for this definitely.
  7. Anteloper - Kudu [International Anthem] always open to hearing some more Jaimie Branch
  8. I saw this LP over the weekend. I was intrigued but not enough to buy it unheard (too much of a hurry to give it a listen) Anyone know anything about the record or band? Only release listed on Discogs. Scant references online but one track on YouTube does sound interesting. The personnel mean nothing to me but that's probably a reflection more of my ignorance than their profiles Alto Saxophone – Rahim Roach Bass – Chris Amberger Drums – Smiley Winters Piano – Robin Young (3) Soprano Saxophone – Dale Reamer Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone – Bert Wilson, Mike Breen Trombone – Patrick O'Hara* Trumpet – Peter Montalbano Vibraphone [Vibes], Arranged By, Conductor – Dave Wilson (11) Vocals – Carol Wilson
  9. Chico Hamilton - Man from Two Worlds [Impulse]
  10. Thanks, will act accordingly
  11. Beautiful, thanks for posting. 'Always'
  12. I'd like to hear Peregrinations one day. Discogs prices were quite high when I looked not so long ago. Nothing silly but a bit too much for a punt on Chico of an era I'm unsure about. Would love to hear what you make of it. Edit to add:just found it on YouTube
  13. Would this be a good intro to the band for someone who knows nothing about the band but the enthusiasm shown for them on this board?
  14. ICP - Groupcomposing [ICP Records]
  15. An enjoyable listen, thanks. There's a far amount of Bernstein programmed at this year's Proms so it was nice to have a Jazz context. I'm intrigued by his sitting in with Ornette.
  16. I'd absolutely second this recommendation. My favourite recent EP album, as Ubu says, beautifully recorded
  17. Poschiavo is very good. Not aware of the other release/remaster, thanks for the alert
  18. today's review piqued my interest too but not got around to listening to it yet. Your impressions?
  19. Yes, sorry mjzee. I'll see whether I can edit it so you're not misrepresented by my post. Those are JSngry's words. That was my error for taking the quote from your quote of JSngry
  20. Good to hear one of the greatest artists of twentieth century died to a timetable of which you approve, just culturally of course. Heaven forbid he should have lived longer and disappointed you... edit to add: above quote is actually of JSngry's text not mjzee. Apologies for error using quote function
  21. Open Sky - Spirit in The Sky [PM] Frank Tusa - Father Time [Enja]
  22. Me too, now. Good listen
