I would question the need for a baseball player unless this is a US list only. I'm not sure it has the global reach and recognition beyond the playing countries. That's why I suggested Ali as he was recognised probably anywhere that mass media reached at the time - I'm not too sure many other sports people have had that reach since.

Coming to this late. Without reading the previous posts I only knew 1.4 was Stanko and was from one of the few albums of his I didn't have 1.6 had Kenny Wheeler in the band 1.7 was maybe Sclavis in his earlier days the others I have no idea whatsoever. I'm really hoping 1.1 isn't some horribly expensive and rare album because I want to hear all of it Now having read the posts I see I'm way off with Sclavis but near enough with the other two. Onto Disc 2 later, I hope

I find that whole idea oddly intriguing and tempting. I don't know why but maybe because it harks back to early childhood music/book packages, some great tunes and combuines that with a cottage-industry/craftsman, self production ethos. I'd love to hear and see one in the flesh Do you know this: Brilliant (though high production) set of completely varied Disney interpretations. Imagine the Disney songbook up to the late 60s played by the houseband on Pinocchio's Pleasure Island. A rather disturbing listen. No I don't but I'll look it up. There's the Sun Ra Disney on Leo Records too
