  1. Luke Stewart Silt Trio - Unknown Rivers [Pi Recordings, USA 2024] Brian Settles!
  2. That's a shame, Maze were big on the Soul scene here for a while
  3. I don't have that one, I do have a couple of others of Rosewoman's from that vintage that I like a lot Gunther Klatt & Elephantrombones - Live At Jazztage Leverkusen [Enja, Germany 1988] Picked this up dirt cheap and it's a really interesting listen, especially if you like trombone sections...four trombonists on this. Some lovely writing and orchestration
  4. Sadao Watanabe - Sadao Watanabe [CBS/Sony, Japan 1972]
  5. Thought you would have done, it's a good discovery
  6. Yusef Lateef - The Blue Yusef [Atlantic, USA 1968 RE] Curtis Amy, Cornell Dupree - Katanga! [Fontana, UK 1963] Yes, I'm a Wilson fan too
  7. Time for some Jazz harpsichord... Michael Garrick Septet - Black Marigolds [Argo, UK 1966 Stereo] Earl Anderza - Outa Sight [Fontana, Netherlands, 1963] First listen, there will be lots more. I do love the fact that after listening to Jazz for 30+ years there's still albums like this to discover. love the "tartness" of his tone.
  8. @HutchFan did you enjoy it? I bought a copy recently and really enjoy it. A hidden Norma gem I think that's a really good album As is that, an old favourite
  9. Bernd Alois Zimmermann - Die Befristeten etc [Wergo, Germany 1972 RE] Spontaneous Music Ensemble - Eighty-Five Minutes Part 1 [Emanem, UK 1986]
  10. I hope the Fieldwork listing hints at an album and accompanying tour to include the UK of course. Otherwise it's my annual "if only" comment, another enticing list

    BFT 246

Highly recommend his latest if you have the time https://patthomaspiano.bandcamp.com/album/the-solar-model-of-ibn-al-shatir

    BFT 246

No, not Pat who does indeed sport a fine hat. Although I could happily do an entire BFT of his recordings, not sure it would be too popular beyond you and me though...
  13. Yes, this was a shock when it broke yesterday. I remember seeing him often in the 90s into 00s at the old Vortex and less often since it seems.
  14. Folk like a museum piece
  15. Patrice Rushen - Prelusion

    Tim Green

That looks interesting. His playing on Gonzalez albums always made me sit up and notice
  17. I might be tempted but only when the Director's Cut is issued without Sting's ridiculously anachronistic blonde hairstyle
  18. Rebop Kwaku Baah Steve Winwood Muffin the Mule
  19. Paris Hilton Peter Shilton Aram Shelton
  20. Charlie Mariano Rocky Marciano Pat Martino
  21. That's a good one, haven't played it in years mind you
  22. Tracey Thorn Massive Attack Shara Nelson (whatever happened to...)
  23. I'm genuinely surprised that Braxton is more well known. Nothing wrong with Clissold Park apart from all the runners...in fact Clissold Park was the London Fields of my day
  24. Not "Spiritual" enough, too experimental for London Fields Crew. Having said that I think "Theme de Yo Yo" maintains its position in a Jazz top ten for the new Jazz cogniscenti. I guess they never looked beyond it very much. How cynical am I feeling today...
