Thanks for giving it a spin and for your impressions #6 Not 'Blue Moses' I'm afraid but glad you like it. #10 is the sax player's date and the pianist I know to be a CT fan #15 not on ECM but another independent label
  6. I'm streaming it now, would go up to $5 if NM...

Thanks for your comments John (mine in return are under the tracks concerned) and I'm pleased some tunes made a positive impact. I'll let you check your Dan-analysis against his answers but I'll say this much, you know each other's tastes well.. It would seem from current responses this is a front-loaded BFT.
  11. Great to hear such a positive report of Wilson's performance.

Thanks for taking the time to listen. I'll take your two "curious" ratings any day of the week. Any bassist thread is coincidental, there's only one bass leader and that's a co-lead 4. Not Booby

Thanks Dan. I was deferring to my instructions but here goes... https://thomkeith.net/blindfold-tests/current-tests/ No theme but a guiding principle. I hope anyone who chooses to listen finds something to enjoy (I've deliberately steered away from the more avant elements of my collection). Enjoy!

Just to say that I'm waiting on confirmation that the link is active, hopefully get that soon and then we'll be swinging.

  20. Currently have about 2000 LPs. I started buying at 14 when LPs were the only option and continued through to early 90s when I largely switched to CDs. By the late 80s I probably had about 500 but would have had many more but for selling off large parts of my collection due to unemployment and low income jobs. I switched almost exclusively to CDs through to about 2000 when I caught the LP bug again, initially to find the ECM titles that hadn't been issued on CD. Since then I've bought a lot more LPs than CDs both "hipster display item" new releases and from the second hand market. I am now unabashed collector buying rare and objectively expensive early pressings (not BNs though, not that expensive), because I can and I like them but also cheaper unusual LPs that pique my interest, such as "Contemporary Music For Harp And Flute", especially if recommended by folk whose taste I trust (😀). I enjoy sourcing online and do so mostly but also at a few of the good shops that London is now blessed with. In the last week's I found a rare South African Jazz album I never expected to ever see in the flesh. That makes me very happy, I'm happy to be judged on that...
