Pat Thomas - The Solar Model Of Ibn Al-Shatir [OtoRoku, UK 2024]
my compensation for not being able to use my ticket to hear him play Monk this week. This is very good indeed.
Still remember hearing it for the first time in a bar in Derby in about 1985 and bothering the bar staff to tell me what it was I was hearing. Been a favourite since. Possibly the first time I knowingly listened to kora too, I have listened to a lot since.
So did I
I miss Haden too, an important figure for me when I was first discovering Jazz, 'Ballad Of The Fallen' was one of my earliest exposures to the genre. It goes to the desert island with me
That's good news.
I've been buying CDs from Leo for at least 25 years but the catalogue is that extensive that there's always something else to discover and a DL option will be most welcome.
I suspect they'll also be 100% streamable as they appeared on other platforms a while back.
Amalgam - Prayer For Peace [Transition, UK 1969]
An oft overlooked gem.
