  1. I listened to my LP copy only yesterday. Bought on a whim as it was cheap. Really interesting recording.
  2. Michael Garrick Septet - Black Marigolds [Argo, UK Stereo 1966]
  3. Yep, been there. Currently I have a CD missing, it's one that came in an oversized sleeve inside a handmade, by the artist, cloth cover. It's not in the oversized CD section, not in the current/to-be-filed section, can't fit into the alpabeticised main CD shelves. By rights, it should be the hardest to mislay given its distinct very colourful cover but nada... Have you checked inside the Sama Layuca sleeve?
  4. Catalonia Jazz Quartet - Catalunya Tradicionals Jazz [Edigsa, Spain 1966]
  5. Yes, it is isn't it. All the elements come together very nicely. And, Happy Birthday (belatedly perhaps). Love the Wolf LP story
  6. James Brandon Lewis & The Lutoslawski Quartet - These Are Soulful Days excellent tenor and strings album I read somewhere today that today's the anniversary of the release, not that anyone needs a reason to play that on any day
  7. James Brandon Lewis Red Lilly Quintet - For Mahalia, With Love [Tao Forms, USA 2023] This is really very good. Thanks to @tkeith's current BFT for nudging me to buy it
  8. Jack McDuff - The Heatin' System [Cadet, USA 1972] Summer's finally arrived in London, 30 degree heat outside and inside with this music. Phil Upchurch! Special mention to @HutchFan for my intro to this
  9. And flute Jazz here now, Herbie Mann - Windows Opened [Atlantic, USA 1968] Love the version of 'If I Were A Carpenter' on this
  10. I've had packages get from London to east coast and in the opposite direction in 5 days recently. Certainly not sucking, at the moment at least, when in partnership with Royal Mail.
  11. Saw them live about then, very impressive
  12. Okay Temiz Trio - Turkish Folk Jazz [Sonet, UK 1975] Great album, exactly what the title says it is
  13. Good to see Nat being played, not too sure too many folk know of him here
  14. My 2 pence says the same... Also, I have thoughts about Tyner with Coltrane but I keep them to myself as I want to live a bit konger
  15. Charles Rouse - Two Is One [Strata East, Japan 1976 RE] Today's arrival. Such an intriguing listen. Really enjoying it I'm pleased to heat I'm not the only one who hears Tyner as breathless, more often than not for me, especially on Milestone. I also rate 'Sama Layuca, thanks to Bobby H.
  16. Washington's other Aussies did the damage by the looks of things Meanwhile England wrapped up another comprehensive victory against West Indies in the 3rd and final Test. I had no idea that Canada has a T20 league, it's everywhere i
  17. Jeff Mills - The Eyewitness Fascinating music, equally fascinating interview with him on the radio this afternoon
  18. That's good news, I hadn't heard that
  19. It was my entry point in 1976 so I'm very fond of it. I think 'Darkness...' is my favourite album though
  20. Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run followed by Bruce Springsteen - The River Breaking out the Bruce vinyl as he's in town this week. Would love to have been able to see him again, my last time was 1988.
  21. Travis Head, one of the best (and it hurts to say that about an Aussie😁)
