  1. It's a great album whichever.
  2. Glastonbury Festival So far Lankum and Black Pumas have hit the spot. 35 years since I was last there...sofa watching seems right now
  3. They did. A team known historically for choking at big matches but I think this was just a case of India being stronger. India's bowling attack is very special and in Rohit have a great captain and batter
  4. Me too, 5 episodes in and very much enjoying what feels like a different approach to narrative
  5. Relative Pitch seems to be recording some of them, often in solo fluke-mogul is playing with Fred Frith at Oto later in the year but I have a clash, shame
  6. thanks to the Avant thread discussion
  7. That's exactly what I thought too Edit to add: just purchased 'Vanishing Pleasures' by The Ghost to start to remedy my ignorance
  8. This, absolutely And if I do find myself questioning it I just shift some out. Sold 150 of my old long-ignored rock LPs this month, they'll fund a few high ticket price Jazz albums. Happy all round.
  9. Or, a healthy relationship with physical items (not something I have...but strive for)
  10. Not screwed at all if you've had hours of stimulation listening to them, that's what they're for. Screwed if you bought them as an investment opportunity, definitely.
  11. And follow the cricket and football! Thanks for the sentiments gents
  12. Tested positive on Sunday, feeling rough with high temperature etc since Saturday. My last dose was 72 hours of discomfort then tailed off. Hoping this is similar
  13. They even named a band after it
  14. It was great that USA got as far as they did. T20 as a format favours batters but they way in which bowlers have adapted has been a fascinating aspect. It's brought spinners right back into focus as well. And yes "dot balls" essential jargon
  15. I had an ECM LP where the lamination was peeling, I removed it and I think that was a mistake as it left a cover with adhesive still there. Have you got a plastic sleeve you can place the LP in, with the remaining laminate still present? Great album
  16. No, an earlier 33rpm
  17. @Pim listening to this now. The only issues I hear with the sound are due to it being a live recording - the drums and more so the bass is not so audible at times when the horns are in focus. Horns and vibes are crystal clear and foregrounded. Bass solo on side 1 is definitely quiet in comparison but still pretty comfortably audible and has clarity. Main issues I'd say are with balance between front line and rhythm section in ensemble parts. Thank you for prompting this listen, it's a marvellous album. I have the other two as well so will have to listen to them!
  18. Duke Ellington - Indigo Moods [Music On Vinyl/Columbia, 2014 RE] recent purchase thanks to the discussion in another thread. This is sumptuous Watch this space...
  19. At least the T20 team put up a fight
  20. I have an original and never noticed it's poor but it's been a while since I listened to it.
