  1. I know someone who is actually looking for a vibraphonist to lay tracks for a recording project in Grand Rapids. So this info has come in handy. Maybe the guy would be interested. g
  2. I am working it Ron. If I can't squeeze it into this fall mini-tour. I'll get it in the spring. g
  3. I spoke with the owner of Chap's today. She had never heard the band before. I said "so how did it go.." And she replied "Oh my god...I.. I... I never would have imagined they would be so incredibly good. I want them back!!" Pretty cool. g
  4. David, I am presently looking for a venue in your neck o' the woods. Any ideas? g
  5. I can't speak to their recent material but the stuff I heard a few years ago was pretty darn funky. Didn't Sco play on some of their stuff? g
  6. . . . and send them copies of "This Is The Place." Also, once you get a gig scheduled, you really should contact WRTI, send them the 2 CD's (if they don't already have them), and get them to play them and do some interviewing leading up to and promoting the gig. I've heard them do that with other "emerging" performers coming to town. ← Again, many thanks Ron. Contacted Chris, still having a tough time with Ortleib's. But I am, Tenacious G... g
  7. Sounds like a great vacation!!!
  8. What if we only add the hootchie dancers? ← I'm sooo on it!
  9. Holy Smokes!!
  10. Getting the trailer in and around NYC is the easy part. Parking is going to be the issue. ← So, maybe a big van would be better. Is parking any better on Sundays? g
  11. I never went back to the soulive forum after posting: "you dudes, like waaaazzz up??? you every heard of a smokin' hot trio called organissimo?????? they rock dude!!!!????!!!! later" hehe
  12. Welcome to the board. Some folks here love soulive, some like them, and well, let's just say, many folks here are passionate about their music and they claim to "despise" them. Me, I saw them open for DMB once, couldn't really hear them at the time. But heard a cut on the radio afterwards and enjoyed it. I like organissimo better, but I am biased. I will go check out their website however. See what the competition is up to... Greg
  13. Hey, If you are going to horn in my action, the least you can do is let me borrow that guitar for the Johnny Taylor tune we are recording. geez
  14. Just read it Ron! Many thanks for the info!!! g ← Do you still have the other suggestions of Philly jazz clubs I had sent to Jim? ← If you could send them to me it would be great. I think I've contacted most...however, better safe than gigless.
  15. By the way, to our New York friends. How hard would it be to pull a 5 by 8 enclosed trailor thru the city to the village. And to park it? g
  16. He done larned that in Mason! Oh geez, I went and did it. lol
  17. Ah, they are only up to Oct 1st. But here are the particulars: Sunday Oct 9th -organissimo starts at 10:45 p.m. and plays one show (roughly 75min, could go longer if you all scream and yell ) -if anyone lives near the venue and could help with grassroots advertising, pls pm me. 18. Who has Greg's Visa? The bill should be huge by now. ← My wife. And she won't give it back.
  19. Just read it Ron! Many thanks for the info!!! g
  20. We've got both grass roots and station support already brewin'. Chuck is going to drive up and wander about wearing an organissimo sandwich- board just two days prior.
  21. Didn't I say "hip folks"? ← I just knew you were going to say that.
  22. I think there might be 16 hip folks in the greater Mount Pleasant area. Hope they come. SEK and Mike Johnston are two and they know the rest - now build a list. Maybe you can get folks from Alma. ← Mike is cool. I had a band called Smokehouse and our other guitar player worked for Mike at a record store. Was it Fullmoon Records? Geez, been since 1989... Anyhow, I bet the music students will come out. A lot of profs will dig it too. I still have some Mt. P connections. g
  23. With all the airplay on WCMU, this should be huge.
