  1. what a beauty that volley was!
  2. I used some tracks of this series on my BFT and did some level correction in a wav editor. These are all extremely clipped, resulting in a very harsh, very brittle sound. Someone gave up a lot on sound quality for gain in volume.
  3. all are invited! are you gonna come riding on your pony?

I used to play the final track of Frank Zappa's Civilization Phase III a lot. It's just the sound of someone firing a gun in the distance, some rain, a car, and a bird, a simplistic sparrow a that. I used to not notice when it ended and listened to the world instead, fabulous really. You can hear pretty cool things there once you train your ears a bit.
  5. my liver hurts when I drink, should I worry?

  7. beats a big liver I guess...
  8. couw looooves Cannibal
  9. There was no info in the session log and someone thought the title "Allison's Uncle" up. Allison, Nat Adderley's daughter, was born that day. Turns out it's actually "Bangoon" as performed by the Jazz Lab quintet a year earlier. BTW, your mixing things up it seems. The RVG has "Bangoon," the older domestic release has "Allison's Uncle."
  10. Please tell me you were playing with Photoshop again. Please. Pretty please. "you were playing with Photoshop again." there, said it. sadly, it is not true. somehow I have already developed a love for this silliest cover though...

Half.com doesn't ship outside North America. ah, should have checked that Mr. Swinger is from Finland.... in that case: try amazon.de, there's two copies up in zShop; I believe shipping to Finland is 5 EUR. You may want to contact the seller.

You could of course get that copy from amazon.com marketplace. There's also one up on half.com.
  14. because RVGs are reissues of albums, not collections of as much material as will fit on a disk.

I doubt the digipac Atlantic releases have better sound than the box. Apparantly the recent Warner/Atlantic release of Ornette! has better sound, but I only know that from hearsay. edit: those recent Warner/Atlantic releases are made in the EU; it's a series of some dozen or so titles that come in jewel cases. Besides the Ornette, there's the Marsh/Christlieb Apogee album and the Blue Yusef Lateef, as well as that Fathead and Hank Crawford, just to give you some pointers to what I'm babbling about...
  16. uh-huh, sure, yup...
  17. FWIW, there's a Gil Mellé up on ebay now
  18. no he doesn't You mean he sounds better? yup. (moanin' counts)
  19. If this is pointed in my direction, I must confess I was searching for a fuller Belgian connection! Rene Thomas I had figured out but I was also thinking Bobby Jaspar and spent too much (but very enjoyable time) relistening to the records from that glorious team. Did not get to the album that Jim identified in time. Besides how can we figure out those Blindfold Tests when we have Eurosoccer going on? I have been pounding Jaspar too, little quirky something was not right though. then I had to watch futebol... now I'll go and think about why I didn't pick up that Thomas title, how is the other one from the series?
  20. hey, how come I don't have this disk? I need to change that!
  21. drats, hope so, but they seem to eager to win and will probably loose just because of that (even against Latvia... )
