  1. it's also on the CD version of the Heavyweight box. At about 5:36 in, there is some tape stretching, as if someone is holding the tape for a split second.
  2. you don't want to weigh ONE of each as you want to know the mean or median weight of all your pre- and post- and during-oil crisis vinyl pressings and your varying thickness CD booklets. Also, older jewelcases are about double the weight of more recent ones. What about digipacs? Maybe David Ayers can get up from his chair and place some on his kitchen scales, while MikeWeil goes looking for his bathroom scales, wherever he hid those... BTW, one CD cum jewelcase really does weigh about 100 grams, give or take 10 grams and a CD cum slimcase really does weigh about 50 grams. A single LP on average really does weigh 200-300 grams, depending on vinyl thickness and cardboard stock. I didn't make that shite up!
  3. LASER technology now available! Powerful laserlight is the effect you have waited for! LEDs in guitars and basses are to underline the player´s personality and style. at last the end to endless fruitless practice sessions is here.. forget the strings! forget the frustrating licks and runs you can never master anyway! let the light do the work for you! music doesn't impress the girls, it's the ROCK STAR-IMAGE you have on stage that does it!! finally here is your chance to cover-up your fake musicianship and let the girls know you're actually an electrician by nature! Two-colour layout with matching body LEDs ("runway design") makes your instrument look longer and more impressing (side dots with dimmer). finally get all the girls with these lights ~ this is the answer to the miserable days of being unable to catch the hearts of the members of the opposite camp by trying to play quasi-romantic melodies!!! the dimmer knob can be reached while playing. super-utility guitar! makes those lumberjack-women recognize your DIMMING SKILLS at once!! back-stage after-show satisfaction guaranteed! the player is never blinded! so you can reach down your pants while playing! http://www.led-guitars.com/41026.html
  4. I had to go into the other room where I have a box with 64 standard jewel case single CDs, it weighs about 6 kilos, so that's about 100 grams per unit. Next to it is a box with 80 slimcase single CDs, it weighs about 4 kilos, so that's about 50 grams per unit. These near scientific measurements were made using our lying bathroom scales.
  5. I happen to have a box standing here (next to my computer ) with 70 LPs in it. It weighs 20 kilos.
  6. Estland, Lettland, etc - I know that these were the names the Nazis called these occupied countries or is that how they're still called in German? These names -- Lettland, Estland, Livland, Kurland, Samland -- stem before those times and are still used in German. Remember that Germany once reached these territories and that many German families have their roots there.
  7. JC and JG, right, but not QJ. Bass player is one of the most easily recognisable I've always thought, generally speaking - starts with an "R"! Hmm ..... I thought of Ray Brown - but this track is not on the Verve Big Band LP I have, and there's no Griffin on it either. But Cleveland was on this ..... not Ray, Ron! Just Plain Talkin' about Tadd Dameron's Magic Touch so it's Tate! >link<
  8. "All Too Soon"
  9. and Mike, next time you post your guesses, please include the name of the tune (#13: Chant), so I don't have to keep breaking my head over it!
  10. Track #8: it's Bill Perkins! Who'da thunk?
  11. I just had some spare time and a google bug bit me, saves you the trouble of finding those links!
  12. and on track #14 we "Meet Mr Gordon" as introduced to us by Jack Montrose and his sextet on Pacific Jazz
  13. I'd say track #4 is Fedja from here: >link<
  14. track #5 equals track #1 here: >link<
  15. track #2 equals track #4 here: >link<
  16. as for track #15, there seems to be more Lady here than just the Little Old one... >link<
  17. Phil? Phil Who? Phil Collins? You should move to Schleswig-Holstein. Officially declared "Phil Collins Zone". Sadly their radio transmits across borders.
  18. maybe you should try some of the tricks Mac's are supposed to be so good at and reduce the size of some of these pics Chris...
  19. Yes, I understand it's a CD. Do you mean it's a digipac? That's just how they make these things. If there were no liners -- save for a tracklist and a few lines of yadda -- on the original LP, there will be no liners with the LPR CD.
  20. you'd think they'd otherwise be complaining about her wearing a gentleman's shoe on her anatomically interestingly bent right leg...
  21. this is an LPR right? I don't have this particular one, but looking at the pics (BB) linked, chances are there never were any liner notes.
  22. I have managed to makes things crash. Windows, Mac even Linux and even Unix (oh the horror!). It can be done. All you need is to divide by zero in some heavy duty calculations, make the programme running the calculation go wahwah and then the entire machine go berserk... NaN! NaN! NaN! beep beep beep....
  23. others just know where they put their shite and don't need evil chimps to come and type .jpg/.psd and find all of it. yikes et heheh.
