  1. Inspired in part by the BN Screensaver and by a lazy weekend, I spend some time with photoshop and a collection of BN covers and came up with some animated covers. I hope my output will inspire others here on the board. I know there are some true animation kings among us. So let's have a ball! I like this one, but as an avatar, it belongs to Parkertown I never took the effort of inverting this great pic until now. my new avatar: my favorite "funny one": not very satisfied with this one: the very first one I made: you will buy this record.... you will buy this record...
  2. ...and don't forget! you get a special promo-only play-backward message from satan! Interesting to note that the "ROAST BEAST DOES NOT SELL BOOTLEGS, C-DRs, RECORD CLUB ISSUES, or FAKES/COPIES!" apparantly selling promos is of an entirely different order...
  3. Thanks! It was a lazy weekend. I did a whole bunch. This one's for Parkertown:
  4. after checking with my inner eye and outer Karma I can tell you all that the first track of Jim Sangrey's test features George Coleman on tenor sax. :rsly:
  5. I'll have to give this one another spin soon. Yessssss
  6. I really enjoy his first four VeeJay albums. Besides those I have the Atlantic twofers you mentioned and Swiss Movement. I would really like to hear more so I'm answering to this thread in anticipation of what others have to recommend. The duet he does with Joe Diorio on guitar on the track Alica from Exodus to Jazz is really awesome. There isn't much solo space here, just two guys playing the head a couple of time, the bridge, and the head again. Yet the tune is really captivating, because there is a lot of nuance and finesse to the playing. His tone is unique and even I have no difficulties in recognising him. I even managed on the latest BFTest disk!
  7. humm, actually, that was me... I agree it would be nice to have this as a single disk. But also that it is a very unlikely candidate to get issued ... glad you like the cover! I made a CDr of the album (a good soul on this board provided me with high Q mp3s) and it needed a cover. As the original title of Involution actually stems from the Rivers date issued as Dimensions & Extensions, I thought it needed a new title. I couldn't really take a pick among the song titles and it seemed appropriate to share leader credit between the two principal players. So the title became Andrew Hill - Sam Rivers. Here's the big version so you can make your own print out. Send me a PM if you want a spiffy ready to print & cut out MSWord doc featuring a new&improved back tray inlay w/ text on the spine
  8. happy birthday!!
  9. it's the PINK isn't it??
  10. The Zamboni was mentioned at least a couple of dozen times each time I watched the ice-skating championships since my earliest youth. For those more simplistically oriented they dropped the phrase "mopping/swabbing" closeby though.
  11. yeah, they'll only will be trying to deceive their copy-protection schemes and trade MP3s of the music. :rsly:
  12. aw RT, that's too subtle if you don't add the Shakazammmmm smiley as Ms Lewinsky would put it: "Close, but no cigar!" (anyhow, WHAT does the smiley you chose to add depict anyhow?)
  13. yeah Jeff, and we'd like to see your designs as well!
  14. Street Singer is composed of tracks released on the US RVG of Jackie's Bag and I believe another title I just forgot and am too lazy to check out now -_-
  15. okay, I'm mad enough t seems also colours, but less bright, more like the "pastel" versions I used pics I downloaded from William Claxton's site way back when. This is just another go at some covers. Maybe others would like to throw in their ideas as well?
  16. nose flutes for everyone!
  17. Happy Birthday Berigan's Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wait... Happy Birthday Catesta too!
  18. both are coming out HUGE! Nice covers Bev! I haven't got around to actually print the simplistic track info only ones I made myself. I wanted to cook up something but haven't found time for it yet. I would consider using these, but the colours are a bit too, erm... bright for my tastes.... (no offense, just a different taste I guess). BTW: where did you get the pics? Is this your own work?
  19. Aaah! The Jungle Vee Eye Pea!

  23. sent that PM. take your time. and now somebody please get this thread on track and topic again! -_-
  24. I assume the Jutta Hipp (and maybe also the Hans Koller) stuff is the same as featured on this Cool Jazz in Germany CD? She plays with Joki Freund and Emil Mangelsdorff. No bari on this disk, but an interesting one nonetheless. Click here for info and some samples (tracks 1-4 by Hipp, 5-8 by Roland Kovac, 9-11 by Bill Grah, 12-14 by Hans Koller, 15-16 by Attila Zoller, 17-19 by Rudi Sehring)
