  1. according to amazon.de these have been reissued earlier this year on the Egea label (distributed by SunnyMoon in Europe).
  2. here's another take on the Rollins. I focussed more on the ROLL part of the name with this one
  3. This is FUN!!!! the wink is almost sickening. brilliant!
  4. IT'S BAKED IN! (you know)
  5. thanks for the compliments everyone -_- Claude, no, I am a scientist (really trust me... ) This graphic design stuff is a passtime and the animation my hobby-du-jour.
  6. mike you move faster than any machine it seems! yet another one: while making this one I got much better ideas, maybe I'll work some more on it.
  7. hey, I meant YOU, when I wrote "animation KING" in the initial post! So roll up those sleeves and start working!
  8. On how to do this: it's easy! You preferably need photoshop w/ ImageReady installed. There are other gif-animation programmes out there, but photoshop integrates the animation function with the coolest photo edit programme around. Then you need a lot of time... I can tell you: the idea is the EASY part, the execution can be really cumbersome. Like with the Milt cover: I had to extract each of the little balls and animate it seperately. Pity you hardly notice that in the resulting gif. The reconstruction of the background image can also be a drag (like w/ the Dexter, the Young, and the Milt). You simply make a lot of layers, each with a frame or a part of it. ImageReady lets you pick the layers you want to display, for how long, and in what order. I only really learned how to do this recently and this exercise is definitely good to improve one's skills
  9. Peter: go ahead! These are for sharing, so if anyone wants to have one as an avatar, I'd be really honoured. It's John BTW, not Hans, that's that other dude from the Netherlands... :rsly:
  10. I have larger versions, I made these avatar sized to have yet another restraint considering picture and file size. The originals are from that Japanese BN vinyl cover site and are appr. 500 pixels square and several Kbytes. I'd be happy to share them, but I don't have them with me now. I'll bring them along.
  11. here you are (click)
  12. Inspired in part by the BN Screensaver and by a lazy weekend, I spend some time with photoshop and a collection of BN covers and came up with some animated covers. I hope my output will inspire others here on the board. I know there are some true animation kings among us. So let's have a ball! I like this one, but as an avatar, it belongs to Parkertown I never took the effort of inverting this great pic until now. my new avatar: my favorite "funny one": not very satisfied with this one: the very first one I made: you will buy this record.... you will buy this record...
  13. ...and don't forget! you get a special promo-only play-backward message from satan! Interesting to note that the "ROAST BEAST DOES NOT SELL BOOTLEGS, C-DRs, RECORD CLUB ISSUES, or FAKES/COPIES!" apparantly selling promos is of an entirely different order...
  14. Thanks! It was a lazy weekend. I did a whole bunch. This one's for Parkertown:
  15. after checking with my inner eye and outer Karma I can tell you all that the first track of Jim Sangrey's test features George Coleman on tenor sax. :rsly:
  16. I'll have to give this one another spin soon. Yessssss
  17. I really enjoy his first four VeeJay albums. Besides those I have the Atlantic twofers you mentioned and Swiss Movement. I would really like to hear more so I'm answering to this thread in anticipation of what others have to recommend. The duet he does with Joe Diorio on guitar on the track Alica from Exodus to Jazz is really awesome. There isn't much solo space here, just two guys playing the head a couple of time, the bridge, and the head again. Yet the tune is really captivating, because there is a lot of nuance and finesse to the playing. His tone is unique and even I have no difficulties in recognising him. I even managed on the latest BFTest disk!
  18. humm, actually, that was me... I agree it would be nice to have this as a single disk. But also that it is a very unlikely candidate to get issued ... glad you like the cover! I made a CDr of the album (a good soul on this board provided me with high Q mp3s) and it needed a cover. As the original title of Involution actually stems from the Rivers date issued as Dimensions & Extensions, I thought it needed a new title. I couldn't really take a pick among the song titles and it seemed appropriate to share leader credit between the two principal players. So the title became Andrew Hill - Sam Rivers. Here's the big version so you can make your own print out. Send me a PM if you want a spiffy ready to print & cut out MSWord doc featuring a new&improved back tray inlay w/ text on the spine
  19. happy birthday!!
  20. it's the PINK isn't it??
  21. The Zamboni was mentioned at least a couple of dozen times each time I watched the ice-skating championships since my earliest youth. For those more simplistically oriented they dropped the phrase "mopping/swabbing" closeby though.
  22. yeah, they'll only will be trying to deceive their copy-protection schemes and trade MP3s of the music. :rsly:
  23. aw RT, that's too subtle if you don't add the Shakazammmmm smiley as Ms Lewinsky would put it: "Close, but no cigar!" (anyhow, WHAT does the smiley you chose to add depict anyhow?)
  24. yeah Jeff, and we'd like to see your designs as well!
