  2. yes, it puts the cloud like hair into a whole 'nother perspective. amazing stuff ← that's no cloud, and i'm no critic, but ... as you can discern by the envelopment of his tresses the artist is strongly influenced by the japonais block paintings of hokusai. ← aah! another layer of interpretation, comparing the King's hairdo to a full grown japanese tsunami of yesteryear. But where's the grease in that? ← If you don't have the artistic insight and inspiration to see it, there's really not much hope for you. ← you must be referring to the Japanese whaling; thereby creating puddles of sperm grease on the waves. An obvious point, but also much indicative of your fake artistic attitude. Not all paintings are a mere politico-social critique, you shallow hack!

  4. you may want to check out some more of the sides BN has been putting out recently. Myself, I really like "Today, Tomorrow, Forever", a very nice upbeat album which features small group settings. Lots of "pop" in there, but lots and lots of taste as well.

  7. yeah, that flat microphone really adds depth to the man's face.
  8. There is a short (5m24) video with the Rollins/Cherry/Grimes/Higgins group performing for Italian television (RAI), probably 1963. The tune sounds very familiar, but I cannot place it, maybe someone more knowledgeable can, I have uploaded an mp3 here (hope this works).

  18. My TOCJ has 9 October 1957 for that session. Anyone know? ← Hm. I bought this yesterday (the Connoisseur version) which is why it wasn't on my files yet... The Conn has September 1st, but I'm not sure. Looking around online the discogs seem to be 50-50 on it. I think we have some 01/09- 09/10 confusion going on... ← In case you missed it, Couw, support for the September date from Mr. Fitzgerald http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=21646 ← yes, I caught that and have made a note. This switches the order between this session and Blue Train and puts them even closer together (2 weeks).
  19. That's a great set! ← please keep this in mind
