  3. it's all the black I tell you
  4. revenge of the black, orange and white rekkid covers?
  5. I don't think so. The Ballads stuff definitely gets dull after a while -- not a lot of variety between takes. The number of alternates on the deluxe Coltrane is excessive. On the other hand, the deluxe ALS is essential. Guy ← I agree on the Ballads bonus disk, 5 versions of Greensleeves pushes it a little. The 4 versions of Tunji on the 2nd Coltrane disk, however, are quite a fascinating listen. That Tunji stuff is a bit like the extra disk to the Atlantic set: you will not listen to it often, but it does have something to offer.
  6. mike, there is a 1+ minute real audio sample of the track here, should be long enough for a pro like you to identify... sounds like 70s alright.

  10. Congratulations! it's been a while since I visited the town, and it's too far just to drop by, but it's a wonderful place. I hope you'll find a good home and a good life there.
  11. how where the Dutch today? I only saw the goals here. Looked nice enough.
  12. .asf is a streaming format that does not constrict the actual file type of the stream. This .asf acts as a meta-file and hides another streaming format (.asx), that points here. The actual format seems to be .wmv (version 9). This is basically a bunch of the people involved with this release talking about it, all of it underlain by some music excerpts.

  14. yes, it puts the cloud like hair into a whole 'nother perspective. amazing stuff ← that's no cloud, and i'm no critic, but ... as you can discern by the envelopment of his tresses the artist is strongly influenced by the japonais block paintings of hokusai. ← aah! another layer of interpretation, comparing the King's hairdo to a full grown japanese tsunami of yesteryear. But where's the grease in that? ← If you don't have the artistic insight and inspiration to see it, there's really not much hope for you. ← you must be referring to the Japanese whaling; thereby creating puddles of sperm grease on the waves. An obvious point, but also much indicative of your fake artistic attitude. Not all paintings are a mere politico-social critique, you shallow hack!

  16. you may want to check out some more of the sides BN has been putting out recently. Myself, I really like "Today, Tomorrow, Forever", a very nice upbeat album which features small group settings. Lots of "pop" in there, but lots and lots of taste as well.

  19. yeah, that flat microphone really adds depth to the man's face.
  20. There is a short (5m24) video with the Rollins/Cherry/Grimes/Higgins group performing for Italian television (RAI), probably 1963. The tune sounds very familiar, but I cannot place it, maybe someone more knowledgeable can, I have uploaded an mp3 here (hope this works).
