  1. Mosaic selects are also distributed e.g. through amazon, but cost about twice as much compared to buying from Mosaic direct. The only interesting items are the larger Verve boxes, which come at the same price as when ordered through Mosaic, but with considerably less postage costs and no taxes at the border.
  2. this only applies to the recent Mosaic Verve sets. You can buy them at the usual outlets like amazon, but also in brick and mortar stores. try a search for "complete verve" at amazon.co.uk for example
  3. poor sod, trapped in an avalanche twice within a week!

  11. These are the Verve sets, right? No handwritten numbering, just a mention that this is a limited set of XXX copies. They come with an extra sheet at the back with some info and Verve written over it. The booklet is the same. I think the "label number" on the spine of the box is different and one of these boxes (forgot which one, not the Farlow AFAICRemember) comes with wrong text on the spine. All in all, if you just want the music and the booklet save yourself some shipping.
  12. 1952, Django Reinhardt records 4 tunes for Decca 1953, ditto 1955, Johnny Mehegan records for Savoy with Mingus and Clarke, the latter two did the Jazz Workshop disk on the same day. 1961, Baby Face Willette - Face To Face (BN) 1970, Grant Green - Green is Beautiful (BN)
  13. you are a wicked man I will never send you any links again
  14. playing these teasers, it says Art Pepper in the artist info part of the window. Who said that Mosaic was all quality control? Listening to this stuff, which is pretty decent stuff for sure, I really wonder how often I would return to it. Maybe the Hill I have on my shelves is enough for me. And even then, apart from DwDeath, I haven't played any of it for over a year or so... We'll see.
  15. oui oui. I was referring to the amphibious nature of the creature. never mind... -_-

  21. there's only one Marsupilami, and it is not drawn by Batem! ;)
  22. the Wild Bill Davis Americans Swinging in Paris disk features Danny Doriz on vibes. http://www.capitolmusic.de/xml/1/3251725/5396652.html Earl Bostic recorded some nice stuff with Roland Johnson on vibes and Bill Doggett on organ. Grant Green - Alive (BN) features the combination. And there are three tracks on the Billy Mitchell Verve LPR as well.
