  1. Cruise & Holmes Baby Name Really Means ... Language experts are amazed Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have named their baby daughter Suri because there is no record of the name meaning "Princess" in Hebrew. According to Hebrew linguists, Suri has only two meanings - one is a person from Syria and the other "go away" when addressed to a female. Hebrew expert Jonathan Went says, "I think it's fair to say they have made a mistake here. There are variations of the way the Hebrew name for princess is spelt but I have never seen it this way." Suri can also be translated into a Hindi boy's name, and it also means "pointy nose" in some Indian dialects and "pickpocket" in Japanese.
  2. Maybe you could get someone tp make you a B3 comp with JOS on it In fact, maybe there's already one with your name on it!!
  3. ...from the North Coast Brewing Company: With the developing interest in Belgian abbey ales and the monasteries that brew them, it’s time to remind the world that here in the U.S., we have a Monk of our own. Jazz icon Thelonious Monk is the inspiration for North Coast Brewing’s new Belgian-style abbey ale called, appropriately enough, Brother Thelonious. The beer is being released in conjunction with the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz (www.monkinstitute.org), and the brewery will make a contribution to the Institute for every case sold to support jazz education. Like a Belgian “Dark Strong Ale”, the beer is rich and robust with an ABV of 9%. The package is a 750 ml bottle with a traditional cork and wire finish and features a label picturing the jazz master himself. “Being a huge fan of Monk and his music has made working on this project something special”, said Doug Moody, North Coast’s Senior Vice-President and National Sales Manager. “We’re honored to be associated with a world class organization like the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz and feel that this terrific beer will represent its namesake well.” Look for Brother Thelonious wherever fine beers are sold and fine sounds are heard. The brand will be introduced initially in California. Seattle and Portland will follow shortly after that; then New York and Chicago and a national roll-out
  4. I have been having troubles with my order too, Marcoliv. Placed on Feb 22, not arrived yet. Just yesterday they told me (finally) that they are going to ship a replacement. Why did your order get shipped to Madrid, when you are in Brazil?
  5. ....maybe after they worship at The Church of John Coltrane, they go and have The Beer of Thelonious Monk? ps - image borrowed from that website that doesn't like to mention this website.
  6. Great idea! Noooooooooooo!!!! Don't give Conn any ideas!!!
  7. Thanks all! No big plans today. My son has a t-ball game this evening, which will be the highlight of the day for both him and me (and actually I can't think of too many things that would make the day better than spending time with my kids!). Maybe a beer and some Coltrane later tonight to finish things off. I've said it before, but I don't know of a better place to hang my cyber-hat than this board. Thank you for letting me be a part of it! PS - FFA, how did you sneak into the ladies locker room?? Oh, and Ron... orange clothes are verboten in my home, sorry to break it to ya!!!
  8. Order placed Thursday, arrived today! That's a quick turnaround, given the Easter weekend AND tax deadline! JJ Set #4885. Dizzy #3774, & PC #2558, if anyone's keeping track of those... The Dizzy REECE Select, which is still available (and incl. Blues in Trinity, Star Bright, Soundin' Off, and Comin' On)
  9. The Cowboys signed safety Marcus Coleman today, previously with the Texans. He's been around 10 yrs, so he's not a young pup, but strengthens the free safety position a bit, which was IMO the most glaring weakness on the team at this point. I think they've done a good job addressing their needs this off season, to the point where they have alot of options in the draft (less than 2 weeks away!), and don't have to draft for a specific need. WR, FS, and LB may be their targets, if they don't trade down. So far they've signed: WR - Terrell Owens OL - Jason Fabini & Kyle Kosier TE - Ryan Hannam LB - Akin Ayodele, Rocky Boiman FS - Marcus Coleman, Keith Davis (re-signed) K - Mike Vanderjagt Other than TO & Vanderjagt, looks to be mostly solid but not splashy signings. I hated to see them let go of Larry Allen. Dude should never wear anyone else's uniform.
  10. Based on the thread title, I'm guessing "The Solo Album"
  11. He seems very competitive, unhealthily fanatic about it. I wonder if his need to be in the press constantly of late is to "outdo" the press that Brad and Angelina get.
  12. Cruise: I'll eat placenta TOM Cruise has claimed he will eat the PLACENTA after fiancée Katie Holmes has their baby. The actor, 43 — who wants her to give birth in silence according to his Scientology cult rules — said: “I’m gonna eat the placenta, too. “I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I’m going to eat the cord and the placenta right there.” But when a GQ magazine interviewer said it would be a big meal, Cruise replied: “OK, maybe I won’t.”
  13. Happy Birthday again!!! My, how the time flies. Seem like just last month we were celebrating your birthday...
  14. Interesting. Is there a way to browse their "inventory", to help decide if I want to join or not? Or do you have to go through the sign up process and list your trade items in order to see what others have to offer?
  15. rostasi posted a thread about lala.com back in March. I was curious about the mechanics of how trades work. You basically list what you have available for trade, and if someone wants one of your titles, you send it to them? What do you get in return? And when you want something that someone else is offering, what do you have to give in return to get it?
  16. oh, by the way, it's Jade's favorite Mosaic!
  17. Happy Birthday Flurin, and thank you for what you bring to the board!!
  18. Order placed Thursday, arrived today! That's a quick turnaround, given the Easter weekend AND tax deadline! JJ Set #4885. Dizzy #3774, & PC #2558, if anyone's keeping track of those...
  19. Though not vinyl, do check out one of the Zweitausendeins stores. They have some incredible bargains every day, (and usually have a little bit of vinyl as well). Of the places you are visiting, there are shops in Koeln, Muenchen, and Nuernburg. Seems like we have had threads previously about music store recommendations in Germany, but a quick search didn't find any.
  20. KReilly - It's not a Yo Miles at all. Instrumentation is unusual - trumpet, guitar, voice, computer processing, and percussion/live electronics. Very moody, spacy stuff, and nice thoughtful playing by Smith. The voice fits in well with the computer processing, lending a futuristic but not cheesy feel. You inspired me to pull it out this morning. I like it quite a bit. I think it's very well worth $8, if Jason still has it available. There's a review of Snakish at aaj.
  21. I agree it's lame....HOWEVER.... Anyone looking to pick up the Beatles Capitol Box Vol 2, I believe you can combine the discount with the $15.00 rebate that FYE.com is offering, nabbing the box for a grand total of about $31.50. That's about as good as you're going to find on this.
