  1. The Cowboys signed safety Marcus Coleman today, previously with the Texans. He's been around 10 yrs, so he's not a young pup, but strengthens the free safety position a bit, which was IMO the most glaring weakness on the team at this point. I think they've done a good job addressing their needs this off season, to the point where they have alot of options in the draft (less than 2 weeks away!), and don't have to draft for a specific need. WR, FS, and LB may be their targets, if they don't trade down. So far they've signed: WR - Terrell Owens OL - Jason Fabini & Kyle Kosier TE - Ryan Hannam LB - Akin Ayodele, Rocky Boiman FS - Marcus Coleman, Keith Davis (re-signed) K - Mike Vanderjagt Other than TO & Vanderjagt, looks to be mostly solid but not splashy signings. I hated to see them let go of Larry Allen. Dude should never wear anyone else's uniform.
  2. Based on the thread title, I'm guessing "The Solo Album"
  3. He seems very competitive, unhealthily fanatic about it. I wonder if his need to be in the press constantly of late is to "outdo" the press that Brad and Angelina get.
  4. Cruise: I'll eat placenta TOM Cruise has claimed he will eat the PLACENTA after fiancée Katie Holmes has their baby. The actor, 43 — who wants her to give birth in silence according to his Scientology cult rules — said: “I’m gonna eat the placenta, too. “I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I’m going to eat the cord and the placenta right there.” But when a GQ magazine interviewer said it would be a big meal, Cruise replied: “OK, maybe I won’t.”
  5. Happy Birthday again!!! My, how the time flies. Seem like just last month we were celebrating your birthday...
  6. Interesting. Is there a way to browse their "inventory", to help decide if I want to join or not? Or do you have to go through the sign up process and list your trade items in order to see what others have to offer?
  7. rostasi posted a thread about lala.com back in March. I was curious about the mechanics of how trades work. You basically list what you have available for trade, and if someone wants one of your titles, you send it to them? What do you get in return? And when you want something that someone else is offering, what do you have to give in return to get it?
  8. oh, by the way, it's Jade's favorite Mosaic!
  9. Happy Birthday Flurin, and thank you for what you bring to the board!!
  10. Order placed Thursday, arrived today! That's a quick turnaround, given the Easter weekend AND tax deadline! JJ Set #4885. Dizzy #3774, & PC #2558, if anyone's keeping track of those...
  11. Though not vinyl, do check out one of the Zweitausendeins stores. They have some incredible bargains every day, (and usually have a little bit of vinyl as well). Of the places you are visiting, there are shops in Koeln, Muenchen, and Nuernburg. Seems like we have had threads previously about music store recommendations in Germany, but a quick search didn't find any.
  12. KReilly - It's not a Yo Miles at all. Instrumentation is unusual - trumpet, guitar, voice, computer processing, and percussion/live electronics. Very moody, spacy stuff, and nice thoughtful playing by Smith. The voice fits in well with the computer processing, lending a futuristic but not cheesy feel. You inspired me to pull it out this morning. I like it quite a bit. I think it's very well worth $8, if Jason still has it available. There's a review of Snakish at aaj.
  13. I agree it's lame....HOWEVER.... Anyone looking to pick up the Beatles Capitol Box Vol 2, I believe you can combine the discount with the $15.00 rebate that FYE.com is offering, nabbing the box for a grand total of about $31.50. That's about as good as you're going to find on this.
  14. ...this ain't the "Name Three People" thread
  15. Hey, I figure I can skip one bottle of fine single malt for the JJ set, right BF? Isn't that what you did?
  16. Office Basketball Got skills?
  17. Mosaic order just placed - the JJ, along with the Dizzy & Chambers Selects. <sigh> And yep, I've been in weekly contact with Stephan. He assured me the order shipped on March 11th (late due to the warehouse change supposedly). And they shipped with DHL economy airmail, which supposedly takes 12-20 working days to arrive (which would have been April 7th). He told me if it hadn't arrived by this past Monday, he would contact DHL to look for the missing parcel, and prepare a replacement shipment. ...I HOPE that's what's happening now. That was a big order I placed -- I guess I should have placed a smaller order first, to see how well it worked, before plunging in. I don't mind the wait, as long as I know it will arrive - the prices are still fantastic. But it's been frustrating for sure. I expected this during the first week in March or so.
  18. Dangit, y'all are pushing me into the JJ set. ....and I bet it will arrive before my zweitausendeins order from February, too!
  19. If you consider the possibility - as stated in the article - that the phone line actually WAS used illegally after the father passed away, and was in use continuously for roughly 3 months (January to April), that equates to about (3 months * 30 days * 24 hours *60 minutes) 129,600 minutes. Dividing the $218 trillion, you get a per-minute cost of $1,682,098,765.43. ($1.6 Billion/per minute ) What phone service could possibly have a rate like that?? Someone must have had a SERIOUS jones for some phone sex!
  20. ... i'm still getting a laugh over the ".01 ringits" on the bill. Couldn't they just round that off, make it a nice, even 806,400,000,000,000.00?
  21. Whoever used to translate Aric's posts (was it Aric?) into English on the old BNBB, could you work your magic on the last post by SS1?
  22. No comment on the topic, but congrats on post #10,000 Jim!
  23. $218 trillion phone bill uncalled for, man says By The Associated Press KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian man was speechless when he received a $218 trillion phone bill and was ordered to pay up within 10 days or face prosecution, a newspaper reported Monday. Yahaya Wahab said he disconnected his late father's phone line in January after he died and settled the 84 ringgit ($23) bill, the New Straits Times reported. But Telekom Malaysia later sent him a bill for 806,400,000,000,000.01 ringgit ($218 trillion) for recent telephone calls along with orders to settle within 10 days or face legal proceedings, the newspaper reported. It wasn't clear whether the bill was a mistake, or if Yahaya's father's phone line was used illegally after his death. "If the company wants to seek legal action as mentioned in the letter, I'm ready to face it," the paper quoted Yahaya as saying. "In fact, I can't wait to face it." Yahaya, from northern Kedah state, received a notice from the company's debt-collection agency this month, the paper said. Yahaya said he nearly fainted when he saw the new bill. Government-linked Telekom Malaysia is the country's largest telecommunications company. A company official, who declined to be identified because she was not authorized to speak to the media, said Telekom Malaysia was aware of Yahaya's case and would address it.
