  1. Cowboys appear to have signed NT Jason Ferguson from the NY Jets, and also hearing rumors that they have picked up CB Anthony Henry from the Browns. Both appear to be very good signings at positions of need. 'Boys still need some O-line help, a good WR, strong safety, another d-lineman, and a strong safety. With 2 1st rnd picks, I wonder which they'll target in Free Agency and which will wait until the draft.

    Greg Osby

Che - You know you can do searches to find additional information on topics that have already been discussed, right? I'm pointing this out to you because some people may not have the urge to re-discuss or re-state something about an artist that they've already shared previously. There is a wealth of information in older threads here on this board, on just about any jazz topic you're interested in... 3. catesta. you forgot the obligatory reference to the poster you are talking to. erik.
  4. I agree with Lon in that I've enjoyed every place I've visited. Travelling is a wonderful experience, and you can learn and experience other's cultures wherever you go. I've enjoyed the medina (souq?) and snake charmers in Tangier, Morocco; the fjords between Oslo and Bergen; watching the sun come up in Grindelwald, Switzerland, surely one of the most beautiful places on Earth; snorkeling on the second largest reef in the world, south of Cancun Mexico; visiting the Great Buddha at Kamakura, Japan, and riding the Star Ferry back and forth between Hong Kong and Kowloon.
  5. If you read the original post that you quoted, Tony already has the VV Master Takes disc.
  6. Just noticed Keith Jarrett's "Out of Towners" has been added!!
  7. Finally watched this film tonight for the first time. This thread is helping me to sort out what happened. In addition to having some fantasticly educated & experienced jazz fans who share their knowledge with the rest of us, we sure have some knowledgeable film buffs as well. I thought Mulholland Falls was fascinating, and well made. The "clues" that are listed on the DVD insert are making me want to go back and re-watch it right now though, LOL...
  8. D'oh! I didn't even catch that you'd offered one up, Weiz... I guess we'll have to wait for a response from Herr Peter.
  9. Peter - I'm guessing that you're asking for the Towner "Blue Sun" I offered up. It will go out in the mail on Monday. Enjoy -Erik
  10. 17. 16. Do I hear 15? 15... I caved, too many successes in this thread alone....
  11. Hey Conn - If the Jenkins/Burrell is still available, I'd love to have it. Will PM ya with my address. Thanks, Erik I'll try to post a couple more titles that I can offer up, in the next couple of days...
  12. I'd love that Hank "High Voltage", Eric! I'll PM ya with my address. ...these three are available for adoption: Ralph Towner - Blue Sun Tim Hagans/Bob Belden - Re-Animation Live! Groove Holmes - Best of the Pacific Jazz Years -Erik
  13. I'd love to see this tour! Saw him on the Missouri Sky duets Euro tour with Haden, and really enjoyed it. I'd love to see this tuneperformed live! I also just discovered that "The Way Up" isn't the first seriously long recording that Pat's been involved with. I recently picked up a 3 disc set called "The Sign of 4" from 1997 on Knitting Factory Works, with Metheny, Derek Bailey, Gregg Bendian and Paul Wertico. The first disc is one tune only, called "A Study in Scarlet", and is 62 minutes in length. I haven't spun it yet, but the snippets i heard were more avant styled than PMG-ish. Anyone else have this set?
  14. yes, but please note that the drawing is not to scale You sure about that? B-) hmm, whom can we write and ask about that? The answer is painfully obvious - Kurt Lundvall.
  15. Well heck, there are plenty open letters available too. Why re-invent the wheel?
  16. To write a letter we would need a topic. While doing a google image search on "topic" i found this, and think it fits the bill perfectly.
  17. Newly listed at yourmusic:
  18. Is this the first time after how many years now that we've actually heard a response from Aric about Money Jungle? The plot thickens...
  19. Are you saying there is an alternate/earlier version of this album available somewhere?
  20. Dallas has apparently picked up Drew Bledsoe to be their QB for the upcoming season, after he was released by Buffalo yesterday. I assume there will be a press conference later today with terms of contract etc. Also seeing some rumors that they may pursue Lavernius Coles. If that were to happen I think the offense would be pretty set for next year (need some OL support from the second/later rounds of the draft still though). With Julius Jones, Jason Witten, a solid group of WRs, they could be pretty solid. Then the two first round draft picks AND additional free agency efforts can focus on the defense, where help is needed across the board. Initial needs there are DT/DE/CB/SS. I'd like to see them pick up Samari Rolle who was cut by the Titans. Aside - If Bledsoe's been given a long contract it may mean Drew Henson won't ever see the playing field, that Dallas doesn't like what it sees in him. If Bledsoe's contract is just a year or maybe two, then Henson may still play into the Cowboy's future. Personally I wish they would have given Henson the last half of last season, since it was wasted anyway. Sometimes ya need a baptism by fire (like Manning & Roethllisberger) to see what you're made of, and if Henson never gets that chance, they've wasted a couple of his prime years, at the least.
  21. Wow - Chuck gets credit for recommending Norah Jones. Is this one of the signs of the Apocalypse??
  22. Just got back from Vegas last night. Had a great time, and about broke even at the blackjack tables. Saw Dana Carvey live at the Mirage on Friday night - he was great, and did alot of his old impersonations - Church Lady, both Bushes, Kerry, even Ross Perot. And he did a great bit with both Arnold and Teddy Kennedy about how they probably banter with each other at family get-togethers. I had luck at some of the Record Citys (particularly the one at 300 E. Sahara), and Big B's as well. I'd recommend checking them out to anyone that might be headed to Vegas. Unfortunately the Virgin Store at Caesar's Forum is closed now. The Tower store was pretty decent too. I picked up way too many cds, but here are a couple that stand out to me: Baby Face Willette - Stop and Listen Ronnie Foster - Two Headed Freap Bill Frisell/Vernon Reid - Smash & Scatteration Don Wilkerson - Texas Twister Kurt Rosenwinkel - Deep Song Big John Patton - Blue Planet Man Jutta Hipp - with Zoot Sims Club D'Elf - Live 3/28/02 Athen GA Vision Fest Live cd/dvd (thirsty ear blue series) Bailey/Metheny/Bendian/Wertico - Sign of 4 Gov't Mule - Live with a Little Help from our Friends - 4 disc version Brazil DVD - the 3 disc Criterion set, for $20! Oh, one last thing - I got to meet Pamela Anderson on Wednesday! She was doing a fashion show and an "unveiling" of her new slot machines at the Palms Casino. She's alot SHORTER than I expected. I guess I never paid attention to her height before

    Boney James

hey X, can you provide any info on WHY you think Boney James is "the man"? I'd be curious to see your thoughts. So far your posts haven't been too...um...verbose.
  24. Yeah Al, but did you have the Paradise Theatre vinyl that was laser etched? shine it in the light just right and it looked like the rainbow colors you see in oil or other things in the street. Note for the record, I did not own this!
  25. Great site, Mark - sorry it took me so long to catch up to this thread! I have one of Mark's prints and am thoroughly impressed with his work. I've gotten a couple of positive comments about it from visitors, and hope to pick up some additional prints in the near future. to Mark & Jeff!
