Thanks, Paul. Funny, I did a search for it on the Bear Family site but never found it...finger trouble, maybes! Anyway, I see that the CD contains 12 songs (plus what I presume is an additional "information" track") whereas my LP contains only the first 8 songs. So this looks like it's a "must-have"! The extra four tracks were on a Biograph CD (previously issued on an LP) and came from the same sessions. Ah, that's good news all round. Thanks.

Yes, I loved "Flight for Four", "Flute Fever" ..... and all your earlier re-issues. The care you take on the look and sound of all your re-issues is second to none in my opinion. All the others you mention look like winners too. Any idea when they might be hitting the shops?

Bump........ Just to find out how the re-issue programme is going, Jonathan. What's in the pipe-line?

I'm not sure which Atlantic reissue program you refer to. I have around 10 Japanese Atlantics 60th Anniversary issues - WPCR 2xxxxx, they all sound excellent. I wasn't aware that these issues were thought to suffer from loudness/compression etc. I try not to read these threads....I only get anxious

Thanks for letting us know, Paul. Does anyone have a link where I can order this?

Blue Note 1568 Hank Mobley question about 'takes'
Head Man replied to chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez's topic in Discography
I've never thought the mono edition of this record sounded very good — and I'm usually a mono fan. I only have a rip of the stereo edition, and it sounds like a different album. What do other posters here think? Mono? Or stereo? This record would seem a perfect candidate for XRCD treatment, as Mobley appears beloved by that reissue campaign. How are the musicians placed in the stereo mix? Van Gelder's early stereo mixes usually have everything panned hard left and right; before he started mixing the piano in the center. The tenor, alto & trumpet come from the left, the drums from the right and the piano and bass are in the centre. -
Are there any box bargains currently available?
Head Man replied to GA Russell's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Yes, thanks for the heads-up. My order's in. -
The latter, I suspect.....but we live in hope.

No..a wish list is something you might buy or are interested in. I guess "saved for later" is something you will buy.

Thanks, Lon, I hadn't realised that the default was "public". I have no wish to share anything like that with the wider world.

Seems that Ace have remastered this and will be re-issuing its soon. http://acerecords.co.uk/the-loud-minority I wonder if this means that they'll be re-issuing others from the Mainstream box of goodies?

I was checking my Amazon "wish list" today when I suddenly noticed on the same page something called "Friends' & Family Lists" which showed the name of someone who regularly posts here. On clicking on his name I was given access to what I presume is his wish list. How does this work? Does this mean my wish list is available to others here?

Every story a gem.

I'm sure that must be right but why not return a search with the words "no matches"?

Sort of obviates the reason for a "search" facilty though, doesn't it? That's cool...use Google for everything, I guess.

Ah, thanks. I wonder whether mine was in the "empty" package when I threw it on the fire! -

Where did you get the information from? -
Is it me or is the CDBABY search facilty useless? I put in a search for Rich Perry which returned 138 "Jazz" hits, none of which were by Rich Perry and only a couple of which have him as a sideman. Does anyone know the secret of getting what you search for?

from Allen's The (one) Percy France cut, "Ornithology" (c. 1980 with Jeff Fuller on bass) - is terrific! There's also one by Albany with a sax player I've never heard of (Dickey Myers, tune is "What Is This Thing Called Love", ca. 1979). Then there's a great cut with Hemphill from the album "New Tango" (rec. 1992) as well as two from the (upcoming, I sure hope!) project "Man with the Guitar: The White Machine" (rec. 2013, one with Gary Bartz, the other with DJ Logic). Very enjoyable! Thanks KU, I thought there was some more information somewhere. Any chance that either you or Allen could provide a full track and personnel listing? -

Miles Davis - Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel CD set
Head Man replied to bebopbob's topic in Offering and Looking For...
It's missing a disc from the US version. No, I don't think so. It looks like the two discs numbered 2a & 2b have been combined into a single disc 2.
