  1. Obviously he didn't consult John Fogerty first. I guess it makes sense that he would go back to Fantasy, as Pablo hadn't started up yet.
  2. Got one with a beat up box and book but CD's in great condition at a wonderful price:
  3. R.I.P. Greatly enjoyed the fiery group he had with the Brecker Bros. in the late 70's.
  4. Not sure. I bought it new back when it first came out.
  5. Best current price I see - I highly recommend the set! https://www.ebay.com/itm/396790897113?_skw=gil+melle+complete+blue+note&itmmeta=01K0JD9S4R57MXCMWYD135MBCR&hash=item5c629499d9:g:xv8AAOSwTydoXW5g&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1eO7%2BHXyrP1yJrbHnGE3VqgGPTpWcj0bw62EH5flpumO2%2FPFNf6Z0wkjrpBFHWWPx4luyMkSH%2BrDfDWIMWWmDoXlfx%2F1cdg2RJoBifn275nfadc9FNyuwR0WegZouGnEFEBwk8qK630%2BTtNUBmTck7R9nyZJP9GeMcn5QzACbjZTbwhOaAzJn6mygIbOc%2BXsv9iYjxIK7FYHE6SsMAaBrfIKRGwdWQiT3T27P5IGxIKvAogllGcYmHwSdeS1aP8l45PYxytqeYVY8jCHAzDqFmV|tkp%3ABk9SR76Sp82EZg
  6. And I rarely if ever replace U.S. BN's with Japanese BN's of the same title, but did replace McMasters, Conns, and older Japanese imports with U.S. RVG's eventually in all cases.
  7. You're right. I had blessedly blocked that one from my memory!
  8. I bought all the Conns, but replaced many of them with RVG's.
  9. Her prime was a bit before my time, but that's the one by her I always liked, and 'Stupid Cupid' is stupid fun. Can't name a third song by her...
  10. RIP - she was often tied to horrible songs and production, but she was not without talent, and survived a lot of personal trauma. She was 19 when "Who's Sorry Now" hit in the late 50's, 26 when she had her last top 40 hit in 1964.
  11. @greggery peccary will do the September BFT - in fact, he has the files ready to go! Thom, can you please reach out to him?
  12. This is a late 60-album, and Hawes had changed with the times. I love this album, but also dig his earlier Contemporary work.
  13. We're not, HG is set for October.
  14. Agreed, and I like 'Don Juan's Reckless Daughter' (I may be the only person in the world who does) and 'Shadows and Light', but it's all steeply downhill for me after that except for 'Wild Things Run Fast'.
  15. Please hold off on finalizing this. I think a new person may be on the verge of volunteering for September.
  16. LOL! Much truth there re: Joni & "jazz".

  18. Good point, forgot about US3's 'Hand on the Torch' and the hit "Cantaloup" and McFerrin's 'Simple Pleasures' and the dreadful, ubiquitous "Don't Worry, Be Happy". I did like the title track to the album and still will break out singing "Simple pleasures are the be-est", to the annoyance of my family. Those each sold a couple million copies. The gorilla was Norah's 'Come Away With Me', which had sold over 25 million copies as of 2016. And her next two albums were multi-platinum.
  19. I still have mine. Absolute piece of junk, but I was so excited to get it.
  20. Yes, amazing times. I'm forever grateful to Norah Jones for putting so much operating capitol into the BN coffers in that era. Her first three BN albums sold millions and millions of copies...
  21. I was conversing with @Holy Ghost, and he'll take October. Looking forward to that!
  22. Random notes: 1 - The Muzak reissue of the Cowell has much bettet SQ than the DA/Black Lion. Also true for other Black Lion titles, and they use the original artwork. 2 - DA was onboard for the early CD era Black Lion reissues. 3 - I love the Freedom artwork, hate the Fontana drawing covers, find the Black Lion covers to be in-between. All personal taste. For instance, I consider Patrick Roques to have done even better Reid Miles covers than Reid Miles did.
  23. I have dozens of their sets. From experience, it will be a slimline double jewel case with an informative booklet and tray card, with an outer cardboard case to slip the jewel case into.
