  1. Philly is "youse guys", I don't remember hearing "youse" without "guys". Pittsburgh was/is "yins", Huntsville, Ala. was/is "y'all". Don't remember what it was/is in the other places I've lived (Cincinnati, OH and West Palm Beach, FLA).
  2. Thx. I do have 'Dreams and Explorations' and 'Metamorphosis'. Thx!
  3. Was not familiar with 'The Horizon Beyond', but it looks great!
  4. I was listening to Zoller's 'Dream Bells' album yesterday. The first side of that one is awesome.
  5. We've been getting sleet for a couple of hours on top of about 8" of snow. Just hope it stays sleet and doesn't turn to freezing rain. Temp 17, real feel 3, gonna be tough if we lose power.
  6. Quick count, I think I own six of those, compared to 46 on the first list, FWIW. As for not mapping out post-1982 non avant-garde jazz, that may reflect the stultifying effect that Wynton Marsalis & Co. had on record labels and producers. Compare 80-90's BN to 60's BN for even the same artists who recorded for them in both eras (the prime example being those McCoy Tyner solo and duo albums in the later era).
  7. Looks like we're up near six inches in Philly Western suburbs, and still coming down like crazy.
  8. Well, that was a (to me, THE, ymmv) golden era for that music. Someone else can write the sequels for 1980-2000 and 2000-2020 if they want.
  9. I saw him playing on the sidewalks of San Francisco for change in the late 70's or 80's, was stunned.
  10. Let us know what's happening in your area with the storm and how you are making out. Doesn't hit here in Philly until the Sunday early morning hours.
  11. Good musicians of course, but can't say I love the CD. Wish there were a bass player present, and Crispell often leaves me antsy...
  12. Thanks for this! Quick count, I believe I own 46 of them plus burns of the Lasha and Colbert, which I would buy legit CD's/downloads of in a heartbeat. Lots of room to debate the selections, of course, but there are some wonderful recordings on there.
  13. Thanks, I don't show that coupon. Must be location-related, as I buy massive amounts of stuff off Amazon, receive multiple deliveries every week.
  14. Now $72.56, sorry I missed the $50 price, may have sprung for it.
  15. I thought about that, but chose to not write it 😀.
  16. I would put to them that it's their mistake, that you are doing them a solid by offering to return the stuff, that they need to take responsibility for the cost and logistics of the arrangements if they want it back, and that you need a solution in x number of days.
  17. Thanks so much for the heads-up! Looks fascinating. It's been out before on LP and CD, but I'm not familiar with it. I look forward to listening on youtube, and if it has a Nimbus-West vibe or is otherwise really good, picking it up! https://www.discogs.com/master/839009-Rickey-Kelly-My-Kind-Of-Music
  18. Or a personal friend/relative as opposed to a known musician, though I can see the poetry angle.
  19. Omnivore is a very good company, they do a nice job on their releases.
