  1. Where do I find these online?
  2. Mine had a skip about 2 minutes into that track. Fortunately, when I burned it to cd, it did not skip. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't.
  3. Ellington's "House Party" and Jackie McLean's "Dynasty."
  4. $18 is a good price if there are no marks on the lp. I recently sold the lp on ebay myself.
  5. Not even a TOCJ reissue, either. BUY the Mosaic.............
  6. Thanks, Chuck!
  7. It could be the hurricane, cabin fever, or what not, but I was listening to this double lp set and looking at the dates -- were these reissued or integrated into existing cds? One has a Village Gate session, August 1961, another, Renaissance Club, March, 1962, and the third, February 21, 1954 Birdland date.
  8. I saw it in my local store yesterday -- but didn't pick it up -- not at $18.98..........
  9. This week...... Thelonious Monk - Underground (remaster) Jimi Hendrix - Live in Montreal 1970 Doug Carn - Trio Leon Thomas - In Berlin Lee Morgan - Lee Way Paul Weller - Wild Wood
  10. I'm a little late in this conversation, but here's my two cents: I've had an HK 20 for a few years now, and have had only one incident where I had to send the machine back to the manufacturer (recommended repair place in California). They upgraded my firmware (with what, I have NO idea), but all I know is when I got it back, I have had no problems whatsoever with burning cds. I use TDKS and Sony, and have not had any sound issues with playback.
  11. Don't be surprised if there will be one last Cash album on the way. Apparently, he had been in the studio quite a bit since June's passing .
  12. One of the last great giants of country music. RIP
  13. I'll probably get this one. Now if they can re-do "Jazz Party"........ I've never been big on Ellington, but that one SMOKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. David, the Patton set has "That Certain Feeling" -- which has NEVER been on cd, here or Japan. And for those who didn't buy the Japan issue of "The Way I Feel" and "Oh Baby", here's a first time opportunity.
  15. I have only listened to 3/4 of the 1st disc, but the playing is above and beyond what they have done before. Chris Potter in particular is a MONSTER on this -- I agree, this will definitely be one of the best releases this year. Exciting, hard driving, and flat out wonderful.
  16. Drimala is moving their operations overseas, so they are depleting their stock. 40% off everything but ONLY if your order 4 or more items. I took advantage and now I want to drag every one down with me, heh heh heh. www.drimala.com
  17. Yes you are right. I made the change.
  18. African drum music. Kinda like Blakey's Orgy in Rhythm. Sounds good!

  23. I have had this cd from Goldmine records for long time, and the sound has always been crunchy. I always found it fascinating that he tried for Motown to sign and promote the Parliaments. There is a bunch of good music here, but only hints of what he was later known for. This is classic Northern Soul material here, but with all the originality and essence that George Clinton could provide. Heavy stress on the vocals, as they were a vocal group then, not the horns and bass centric of Parliament or fuzz guitars of Funkadelic. Highly recommended!
