  1. It was definitely sitcom'y, that's what I alluded at. As New Jersey Turns.. One important point from last night's episode, imo. Right now Adriana is in a unique position to bring down the whole organization. Is she going to do it because she wants to get Chrissy out, will she do it to get back at Chrissy for humiliating her? I think she's going to play a key role from now on. What do you think?
  2. I have the Lullaby, now I'll have to get the Chrono too. Thanks, Lon. How about that autobio, is it in print ? Looks mighty fun. Weren't there two volumes? I know Chris Albertson has a copy.
  3. How big is the overlap between the Chronogical and the Weird Lullaby cds? Babs on Bennie Green's Soul Stirrin' is like icing on a cake. Lullaby Of The Doomed is amazing.
  4. She was definitely going to do the tongue dance on Tony's lap. Damn racoon.
  5. Could be an inside job... Man, say what you wish, running your own business is tough and sometimes unforgiving. I wouldn't have it any other way, though. I'm sure Chris will agree.
  6. Chrissy is all f$%^ed up on paranoia, Tony's on Peruvian marching powder, Adriana is going to let the feds wire her club. Bad shit is coming. What I don't like is that the producers/writers stopped concentrating on what the characters do for money and started to concentrate on the personalities. If I want to see ulcerative colitis I'll tune into ER...
  7. Dude, we're on the same wavelength here. Woof woof.
  8. Two words for you - Doberman Pinscher. A couple of these puppies will definitely help you out.
  9. I will disagree again. I don't think it's as a matter of opinions & our subjective views of what constitutes photography as an art form... Good medium format camera with appropriate film and a good lens properly set-up for the occasion, such as a poor-lit studio, always takes a [much] better picture than a Samsung point-n-shoot. Camera is the photographer's eye, not a box-full of screws and gears. I realized it when I was 12 or 13 and joined a photo club.
  10. I think you are wrong. Reason one - a 35mm milk-dish could not have captured Wolff's subjects nearly as well as a classic 6x6 Rolleiflex. It would be technically impossible to produce the images of such quality without a good camera/lens.
  11. Not one of my favorites either. He took some awesome photos though. I bet Wolff used a great medium format camera, like Hasselblad 1000F. No Hasselblad for him, Francis Wolff was a Rolleiflex 6x6 faithful! He must have mastered it in the 1930s. It's a classic. Do you know what kind of lighting he used, just a flash on a bracket?

  13. He sure was a swell bunch of guys!
  14. Some cats are just pure evil...
  15. Sad, but not uncommon story. Let us now when the problem is fixed. It might be possible to save the vinyl, if the water was not steaming hot. Jackets, on the other hand ...
  16. Well, I ordered the Etymotic Research ER-4P ears from Headroom. Their price was 30% less than retail and they offer a 30 day refund policy. Will weigh in after I've given these ears a good listen.
  17. 1..Phil Woods [got to be the guy who looks like Joe Zawinul, no? ] 2. 3. 4.
  18. Let it go, brother. Let it all go. That's why I hung up this punching bag.
  19. Then you NEED these - MDR-R10 From the blurp- Housing made from mature keyaki (or zelkova), a Japanese tree. Greek lambskin covers the earpads, headband, and suspender; magnesium hangers reduce resonance. 50 mm, ultra-thin, bio-cellulose dome. Plus they sound damn good. Some say - the best dynamic ears around. Of course, at $5K they better be.
  20. I see I was off by almost 30%. It's the damn economy, we tend to overvalue things these days.. $42 is a sound price. Now if someone is willing to compare them to the platitude of previous incarnations.. If anyone in NY area is interested, we can do a shoot-out. I have some BN vinyl, others here probably do too. So, whoever wants to buy these [limited edition, I'm sure]..

  22. I don't think anyone will fall for that one any more. ------- I too, have been looking for a good pair lately. Etymotic seem to be what I need, but I can't find a store in NY that sells them. I want to know how they sound/feel.
  23. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
  24. Andrew Cheshire ! ! !
  25. So far we covered cheapness. I guess we can call it one of the facets of dishonesty. An example - my friend got a juicy kick-back from a lawyer whom he referred me to after I got into a nasty car accident some years ago. I found out about it much later. The friend never said anything, like "let's split it, because I know you're not working now, being hurt and all" or something like that. I was very upset when I found out, to put it mildly.
