Why is anyone interested in mini-LPs anyway ? They save a lot of space sure , but they have the worst damn inner-groove noise ever !

That one's a favorite of a lot of people , including me , though it might have to share the title with Memphis To New York Spirit .

"Tronto"! Tee hee... We residents know it's "Tronna". Spell it how you like , but if you mean to refer to the actual recording location for this album , you better pronounce it , "Vancouver"

As a Booker Little fan (and really , is there anyone who isn't ?!) I was wondering if David Hunt's article in the February 1969 issue of Jazz & Pop magazine is worthwhile ? I'm not expecting anything as interesting as Robert Levin's Metronome interview with Little of course , but is there any biographical detail or musical analysis in it that makes it worth reading ?

Harvey , the artist who painted the Funk Dumpling cover and many others for Savoy , is still something of a mystery . View his work and learn more about his possible identity at this interesting website .

In my view there is nothing remotely outré about the writing or the playing on the date . In addition , given Robinson's sound , it might even be fair to characterize it as a 'clarinet record for those who don't like clarinet' . More what ? He's recorded quite a bit over the years . I should add that I think Bill Smith's recordings for Contemporary , RCA and Epic might appeal to those who like Robinson's approach on Funk Dumpling .
