  1. So, this will be ten discs now?
  2. What a horrifying prospect! Too bad the thing holding up reissues is mega-conglomerate label bean counters. They have a duty to preserve this material.
  3. A nice radio piece [12 minutes] about Jandek. It references the Chusid piece above, and Chusid himself, as well as a bunch of the music: Studio 360 piece from 2001. Byron Colley interviewed, as well.
  4. Do they play Clementine? That is my favorite song by the dead and it was sadly under-recorded and under-explored. My favorite is the 1/20/68 show. You can listen on archive.org. Dig it.
  5. The Cat is back! Woo! BTW, I think it would be cool if we could have a Cat Shatner smilie.
  6. And how is that SACD mastering? I used to have the plain OJC issue and I remember not be excited about the fidelity. [not that it really matters, with Bird on it.]
  7. I saw him back in June back at home in the Twin Cities. That band was more than tight. Entertainers, through and through. And hey, there was some mean sax going on...
  8. If you have a burner, you could burn an entire boxed set on to CDs as mp3 files, and play them back in a mp3 capable CD player [if you have one]. You can fit 10-12 album'ss worth on one data CD-r. You can shuffle on that and listen for hours!
  9. yum! Mmm...rigor mortis...
  10. As a former butcher, I can attest to the OK-ness of iridescent meat. If you don't trust me [and you should, I was once a butcher], then you can dig on this: IRIDESCENCE IN RAW AND COOKED MEATS
  11. I am in--have CD burner and post office in my building as well! I have some mid-seventies dates I can add as well.
  12. I got Prayer Meetin' a couple of weeks before from BMG. Reeeal Greeeeezy.
  13. The local store here has new copies of both the Pearson and the Patton "memphis" titles. If you can't find them anywhere else, let me know and I can hook you up.
  14. ditto on Evan Parker. His circular technique on the soprano is quite something to hear. I used circular breathing when I used to play the digeridoo.
  15. Me too! I was quite surprised to see John Patton playing tambourine. Is he the Coltrane of the tambourine? Oh, wait, that is Larry Young. Great session, though. Papa Lou & Jimmy worked well together.
  16. Spy was created by Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter and Kurt Anderson, now host of a sweet radio show Studio 360.
  17. Would love to have heard the sounds that night. I think even pictures of the event would be fantastic.
  18. Restart in Safe Mode [by hitting F8 during boot] and delete the folder. Reboot again and you should be good.
  19. My Jimmy Smith "Rockin' the Boat" finally came. Woo!
  20. I have a soft spot for Goin' Up. It was the second BN that I bought, and it is a TOCJ. Great band, great tunes.
  21. Started at the BNBB when it first came about, then switch my posting focus to Jazz Central Station. [That board was part of Music Boulevard.com before it was bought by CDnow.com, before it was absorbed by Amazon]. When that died, I continued posting at the BNBB but also found my way over to Jazz Corner. Posted there for quite some time. Those were the days, with the Jazz Trading Post. Man, I moved a lot of discs through that. I moved completely over to the BNBB after the redesign and posted there for several years until it was fatally wounded. Then B3-er came and saved the day. And 700 posts later...
  22. That documentary is fantastic. A friend of mine got a copy in January. It is quite revealing, yet leaves many questions...
  23. Welcome to the board Derek! Always enjoy your reviews on Dusted.
  24. Looking forward to the Braxton as well. Glad to see that they are doing some reissues, as well as going into the new music future. Interesting to see the Fennesz title. I do like what he does.
  25. Amon Tobin - Bricolage
