  1. Just in case, amazon.de still has a few of these at the same prize I bought it (70€, I got VAT deducted, but I'll pay that back to the mailman I guess...): Dexter Gordon (1 remaining) Carmell Jones (4 remaining) Grachan Moncur III (3 remaining) You might want to check for marketplace offers first, though... if they come through, they might end up a bit cheaper: Mosaic Selects on amazon.de Also, there's one Quincy Jones box for 65€ up for takers. (all links via Org - disclaimer: these might be gone fast now... don't wonder and blame me if there are none left!)
  2. In the Pullen inflationary environment, that qualifies as a 'Great Find' Yeah, I guess that's true... 150$ seems to be usual for that one, but that was the case last week already. I gave up on finding it, but against all odds, amazon.de had one copy left. Still waiting for a shipping mail before celebrating, but it's showing as "will ship soon" and I can't change anything on that order... hope to have a shipping notification by tonight, otherwise I'll give up on that one! Sorry to hear about your trouble regarding the Dexter and Pepper (that one I skipped - got the old CDs and might buy that Omega disc from Freshsound some day, which has two more tunes if I remember correctly).
  3. mine has Franck all over - spine, black-in-black digipack inlay, booklet - except for the liners and personnel listing on the last page of the booklet, it's all screwed up... guess I have an original one... will exchange it for a Frank one plus a few 100$ bills if anyone's interested
  4. Happy Birthday, Gene!
  5. ordered a Pullen for 60€ - holy crap...
  6. sure, the mono mastering was much more expensive, it used much more Beatles and George Martin time back then, and the value of that time has grown as... well, time went by...
  7. Rangers in Paradise John Lurie John Milton
  8. Ok, as halfway expected, the order that's been "in progress" since Thursday (for the Pacific Trios) has finally been cancelled - more than three days, how lame! Of course from a vendor that sent a mail about how they offer the best service there is within half an hour after my order... how doubly lame! Anyway, now I have high hopes that the other vendor, from whom I've ordered both the Shank/Cooper and the Pacific Trios will indeed come through!
  9. Thanks guys - I guess I'll live happily without these videos then
  10. No and no, as far as I know. Thanks, that clears the first half... now, how long are these documentaries, are they worth having? What do they consist of?
  11. The part about those "documentaries" somehow escaped me... are they also on the mono discs in the box? Is there a DVD in the mono box as well? What are they, if they're not in the mono box, is it worth getting some stereo discs because of them?
  12. Let us know when you're sorted. Then we can change the title of this thread from 'Bad News form Mosaic' to 'Good News from Zurich'. Shut up and get in the car!
  13. Mine as well (except for the first attempt at the Pacific Jazz Trios, that one's still in progress, good I put in a second order!) - still I don't want to celebrate too early...
  14. very, not to say decisively understated! Ttill waiting for (no) news on the Shank/Coop and the Pacifics... I guess all news there could be would be getting a cancellation/money refund mail, so I hope not to get anything!
  15. Just got shipping confirmations for the Dexter Gordon and Johnny Richards Select!
  16. One of them was the John Patton Select. Yes, and the other one must have been the Carmell Jones. That one at least went out regularly... The remaining "running low" list is quite impressive as well, but luckily I'm covered there, owning all the sets!
  17. Btw, whatever other two sets were still listed as "Last Chance" besides the Pearson are now gone from the site!
  18. I will get the Wein and Spoon eventually... Just sent in my order for the Pearson, added the Braxton and the Brothers Single. I like the Singles a lot. As for the Contemporary part... no interest in that here, at least mostly, as I did get the Freddie Hubbard which is pretty good!
  19. Reginald Veal Reggie Workman Jimmy Garrison
  20. Hill Greene Graham Greene Gloria Grahame
  21. Rip van Winkle Max Frisch Four Freshmen
  22. Oh, and a Basie Roulette Studio set, please!
  23. Seems I indeed managed to snacht up the last copies each of the Dexter Gordon and Johnny Richards Selects from amazon.fr! Both are "en cours d'expedition" now! No news on the marketplace orders (Pacific Trios and Shank/Cooper, that is), but I'm still hoping for the best...
  24. Thanks for one more confirmation! I held off buying these two until some months ago, when I gave up hopes for new versions... anyway, I'm no audiophile, so those shall be ok for me, I guess.
