  1. I ordered this today.
  2. Why the brains of dogs and humans are more similar than you think.
  3. For a couple of years now, it has never been the case that there wasn't at least one email in my inbox of a yet to be delivered jazz order.
  4. Have you bought any BN SHMs yet? What's your opinion on this series?
  5. I ordered the Carter/Bradford Select from Jazzmessengers earlier this morning. Too risky waiting for it to go Last Chance.
  6. The Guardian piece is more than sad, and I feel more for the Dachshund whose snout the Pit Bull broke. Do you have a dog and if so what breed?
  7. I've seen a neglected trained to fight Staffordshire go straight for the throat of my Golden Retriever. In my opinion, these breeds have no reason to exist and should go extinct.
  8. The one literary reference you must know to appreciate True Detective.
  9. How eating dog became big business in Vietnam Every year, hundreds of thousands of pets are snatched in Thailand, then smuggled into Vietnam, destined for Hanoi's top restaurants and street stalls. Demand for dogmeat is so high that supply has become a highly lucrative – and brutal – black market This Guardian article upset me greatly last year.
  10. That Pit Bull should have been put to sleep. Fuck fighting breeds and the Neanderthals who own them and refuse to put a leash on them. Besides needing an apartment that was better isolated for sound, this was one of the reasons I moved to a better neighbourhood last year.
  11. Etcetera was the first from this series I got. Lon recommended it. People here seem divided on the merits of this series. I haven't listened to Etcetera for a while now, I should put it on today.
  12. Not premature if you would inhabit the same time zone as Hans lives in.
  13. Happy Birthday, Hans!
  14. Sadly, I can't make it through Our Man In Paris undistracted (on headphones) for the distortion on the piano. A real shame.
  15. That's an interesting description. Interesting enough that I still remembered reading it while listening to Odyssey of Iska's SHM tonight.
  16. On any subsequent order you will be taken immediately to the final screen in the checkout process, much like Amazon. There you will be able to apply points and make changes.
  17. You can apply as many as you like. Each point is one Yen discount. The more CDs you order, the higher the price of shipping, though shipping each CD separately is more expensive.
  18. I realised that too late and lost a bunch ! I saved up some points recently to have John Coltrane's Cosmic Music (SHM) delivered for free. I used to simply apply them to the next order.
  19. They do have an expiration date (a year or so).
  20. You apply points on checkout. You should have 300 free points in your account as a new customer. On checkout you also get to know how many new points will be added to your account once your order ships.
  21. American Winter No stopping off for chips with mayonnaise for these people.
  22. On the subject of loudness of the Blue Note and other recent SHMs, relying simply on my ears, the Worktime SHM is less loud than the US K2 was.
  23. I didn't realise that was you, Alex.
