  1. Did you order it? My copy shipped 1 November on SAL, so it should be here around 15 November at the latest.
  2. I would not be surprised if these same albums get reissued again on SHM-SACD in Japan Only SHM-SACDs are not Hybrid, if I'm not mistaken, so buyer beware.
  3. Leffe Blond with delicious Surinamese vegetarian nasi.
  4. Then perhaps the free returns are due to the Amazon distribution center at the Gyroscoopweg in Amsterdam. There was talk of them opening a Dutch site last year, and Dutch online retailers started preparing by also offering free shipping etc., but the Dutch Amazon site has yet to materialise.
  5. It seems such service holds for neighbouring EU countries. I have the same service (free shipping over x amount plus free returns) with amazon.co.uk, but no free shipping with amazon.fr.
  6. If you have free shipping from amazon.de you can buy the set at pre-order price, keep it unsealed and then if the reviews are bad, return it. I think you have 30 days for return, and it should be free. But you do have to pay the shipping yourself (unless you receive damaged goods, then they give you a refund for the shipping expenses). With such a set, shipping won't be cheap ... (and in my case, add official bribing of what are known as the infamous custom nazis) No, it is free. At least here in Austria. really? I always paid fully for any returns ... The time I returned three Thelonious Monk Black Lion 24bit CDs because one was a CD-R I did not have to pay. Volumes 2 & 3 were still shrink-wrapped. I could simply print out a label that made the postage pre-payed.
  7. There are four titles now scheduled for a November 2013 release over at elusivedisc.com (via a link on Audio Wave Music's own website). The series is not dead after all?
  8. Oops. Those missing tracks are already on the Milt Jackson disc!
  9. They are both atrocious in different ways. I cherish the Impulse APO Hybrid SACDs that are in my collection.

  11. Not such a good idea then. Order canceled.
  12. I preordered it on amazon.de along with an item with a 2014 release date so it won't ship immediately on release. It might be an item of interest, but I will await reviews before I let this thing ship. If this contains Impulse Originals style remasters, then no thanks.
  13. I saw Lou Reed at several jazz gigs I have attended over the years in NYC. More than once I saw him at a Sonny Rollins gig... and he was a very enthusiastic audience member as I recall. "Walk On the Wild Side" had some nice Tenor Sax and upright bass on it. Anyone know who the players were? John Cale is still around... Ronnie Ross on sax and Herbie Flowers on bass. P.S. Maureen Tucker is also still above ground. And Doug Yule. And apparently turned into an undead Tea Party nut!
  14. Thank you. Eventually only the tree ended up damaged. The sad thing is that tree was thirty-seven years old and its disappearance will make their garden temporarily look a bit empty (the house is up for sale).
  15. I'm also interested in the Monks. Hopefully a third volume with the missing Criss Cross among others will be released next year.
  16. New liner notes by Michael Cuscuna. No justification for the sudden appearance of these two alternate takes. No word in English on who is responsible for the remastering, but this sounds terrific! I'm going to order a lot more of these, that's for sure. These are the Blue Note 24bit remasters I have been waiting for. Alternate takes track length 8:34 and 5:44. Worthy of finally being released imo. Sound quality of alternates only a little less than the album itself. I'll leave it to the board's musician intellectuals like JSngry to make more coherent and meaningful statements on the merit of these alternates.
  17. My parents had to call the fire department to have a large tree in their backyard which was about to fall over dismantled.
  18. Two uprooted trees when I went out for a walk this morning. One in the park, the other blocking a busy road. Edit: Two more uprooted trees around the corner from where I live.
  19. From your posts here and elsewhere these last few hours I get the feeling you are trying to communicate something. Either that or you are poor at moderating yourself.
  20. I'm sure my parents will too. Their mini system makes every CD sound equally good regardless of mastering. It's a marvel.
  21. Not sure about that. If you go through Amazon, they report that it is a repacking of this set (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Mozart-Edition-Vol-Violin-Concertos/dp/B00004YSBF/ref=cm_cr_dp_asin_lnk) and if you poke around long enough you get a back cover that indicates the Sinfonia concertante (KV 364) is Szeryng, Iona Brown and Nobuko Imai. I imagine this is the one you mean. Generally, these sets go for $25-30 used, so this is a good but not jaw-dropping deal. Something I will consider seriously, nonetheless.Actually, that doesn't make much sense -- the cover is very confusing, perhaps even deliberately misleading, but it is true it is unlikely there would be two violins on KV 364. Oh well. It appears, though, that once new berry comics sells out it's $26 set, it jumps in price to $214. ($150 used Like New). After going up again to as much as €38 last week, it was back to €8.80 again yesterday. I immediately ordered a copy to gift during the holidays. Thank for the tip.
  22. R.I.P. http://youtu.be/upb-c0GnsLo
  23. That's a steal. Great set. LPs or CDs? CDs. My first purchase at Discogs. The US seller has a 100% rating and the CDs and book are in VG+ condition. The box has a little wear. He/she sent me some pictures. Now here's to hoping it will get through customs unnoticed.
  24. Finally found an affordable copy at $48.
