  1. Thanks one and all. Spent the time listening to Lee Morgan, McCoy Tyner and Chucho Valdes. A good way to spend the day if I do say so myself.
  2. Hey I got the trademark on that!!! I'll pull a John Densmore on him- I'll-I'll......
  3. Unless that is this persons actual name the individual in question should consider a modification to their board name.
  4. I'm glad Densmore won the suit. There's enough bands touring that are at best gutted versions of the original. Credence is one example that comes to mind. Densmore's suit ensures that there is one less parody making the rounds.
  5. I believe that too!!!
  6. I believe that. I lived about an hour and a half from Palm Springs in a place with the same kind of weather. Unlike where I live now it doesn't get cool at night.
  7. Must be a Rod Stewart fan... ← Now don't get nasty!!!!
  8. Hey Moose just think how Don King would feel if he woke up with Al Davis's hair.
  9. Got up to 90 degrees today. Right now checking in at 79.
  10. Agreed. Anybody who writes something like that and doesn't sign it is a chickenshit sob.
  11. 83 degrees,mostly sunny and very pleasant.
  12. Happy Birthday Kenny!!!!
  13. That's really impressive especially when you consider that Lennon-McCartney were still part of a cover band in the UK and Dylan was probably still in Minnesota.
  14. I thought the movie was the best of the Batman flicks. I thought Michael Keaton did a good job in the first Batman flick and after that the performances just seemed to go steadily downhill. Christian Bale did a great job as Batman and I enjoyed his take on Bruce Wayne. I also enjoyed the performances of Michael Caine,Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman as well as that the dude who was the Scarecrow(he brought the requisite creepiness to the role)and Liam Neeson. I didn't mind the portrayal of Gotham City. The perpetual darkness of the City in the other flicks became an increasing drag to me. I felt that the writers failed Rutger Hauer and to a lesser extent Morgan Freeman and I really couldn't believe Katie Holmes as a DA but I also found myself saying-Who cares? The movie did start off slowly but I felt it was necessary to establish the Bruce Wayne/Batman character and once the movie started rolling the pace really picked up. For two plus hours I was entertained. As I was exiting the theatre I heard someone remark "Never a dull moment!". I agree.
  15. Mike what do you know about a session called "Fried Bananas" ?
  16. Happy belated Birthday. Hope it was good!!!!!
  17. I'm curious how old was Lee when he recorded on the "Blue Train" session?
  18. Good start here. I would also add "One Size Fits All" (similar style to "Roxy") and "Waka/Jawaka" (similar, mostly-instrumental, jazzy style to "Grand Wazoo"). "Hot Rats" is generally considered one of Frank's masterpieces, so you really can't go wrong with that one, either. ← Most excellent choices here. Also I like "Absolutely Free" and "Overnite Sensation"towards the end it seemed the music became more obscene for no real good reason and harder to enjoy. I still miss Frank though. He was a hero as far as I'm concerned.
  19. What mikeweil said.
  20. Reviewers usually are pretty harsh with remakes and generally with good reason but I read a review today where the critic preferred Depp over Wilder and the Burton version over the original.
  21. There's a restaurant in Pagosa called "Dorothy's" and the food is absolutely the worst. I never go in there.
  22. I'm not a purist and CH works just fine for me. I just got the Blue Note compilation and now I have to take some time to check it out.
  23. Great B3 man I'll have to check out the Select sometime.
  24. I'm an OP fan. I haven't checked this one out but based upon the above recommendation I probably will.
