I thought the movie was the best of the Batman flicks. I thought Michael Keaton did a good job in the first Batman flick and after that the performances just seemed to go steadily downhill. Christian Bale did a great job as Batman and I enjoyed his take on Bruce Wayne. I also enjoyed the performances of Michael Caine,Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman as well as that the dude who was the Scarecrow(he brought the requisite creepiness to the role)and Liam Neeson. I didn't mind the portrayal of Gotham City. The perpetual darkness of the City in the other flicks became an increasing drag to me. I felt that the writers failed Rutger Hauer and to a lesser extent Morgan Freeman and I really couldn't believe Katie Holmes as a DA but I also found myself saying-Who cares? The movie did start off slowly but I felt it was necessary to establish the Bruce Wayne/Batman character and once the movie started rolling the pace really picked up. For two plus hours I was entertained. As I was exiting the theatre I heard someone remark "Never a dull moment!". I agree.

Good start here. I would also add "One Size Fits All" (similar style to "Roxy") and "Waka/Jawaka" (similar, mostly-instrumental, jazzy style to "Grand Wazoo"). "Hot Rats" is generally considered one of Frank's masterpieces, so you really can't go wrong with that one, either. ← Most excellent choices here. Also I like "Absolutely Free" and "Overnite Sensation"towards the end it seemed the music became more obscene for no real good reason and harder to enjoy. I still miss Frank though. He was a hero as far as I'm concerned.

Reviewers usually are pretty harsh with remakes and generally with good reason but I read a review today where the critic preferred Depp over Wilder and the Burton version over the original.

There's a restaurant in Pagosa called "Dorothy's" and the food is absolutely the worst. I never go in there.

I'm not a purist and CH works just fine for me. I just got the Blue Note compilation and now I have to take some time to check it out.

At several stations that I worked at I was the Traffic Director and in a nutshell I was responsible for scheduling the commercials on the stations programs logs,working closely with the production director to make sure that our information was the same and delivering the finished program logs to the on air personnel. I was also responsible for getting out the station billing every month(yuk!!!) All this however was for commercial stations and no doubt this has at least a somewhat different meaning for the Ghost.

Is he generally accurate? I think that often our sense of enjoyment (or lack of) is determined by what we bring to the movie. In my case, it was an outing with my 12 year old son. I managed to pry his sleep-deprived hands from the computer mouse... ← That'a good way of looking at it.
