  1. marcello and I had a good talk. It was a spur of the moment thing.
  2. I'm in the chat room, biyatches!
  3. I *think* there is a novachord, along with some other electronic instruments, integrated with rhythm, woodwinds, and strings. Best version ever. Well, TURN IT UP, MAN!!!
  4. Does it have Novachord on it? If not, I ain't buying it.
  5. I've got that... have to dig it out.
  6. The Pistons are actually looking pretty good. Stuckey is a stud. I can see now why Dumars traded Billups. I'm afraid the next move is to trade Rip for someone who is more reliable. I hate to say it, but I don't think they need Rip anymore. Then again, AI might just be here for the season, so having Rip next year would be a good thing. But somebody needs to be the sixth man, either AI or Rip. Stuckey deserves the starting PG role.
  7. Since I have a daughter named Stella, I figured I should finally learn this tune. It never grabbed me, but now that I'm learning it, I really appreciate the flow of the song and the changes. What is the definitive version in your mind?
  8. I betcha he'll play a disc with Freddie singing.

    Leon Spencer

Leon is the real deal. I wish he'd record some new stuff.
  10. HAHA! That's the book written by Maddox. Awesome!
  11. AND, she's also in this 2001 commercial for 1-800-Collect (remember that?!?): But is it Monica or is it her sister Leanna? They are triplets... Leanna, Monica, and Joy Creel.
  12. The Progressive commercial IS on YouTube:
  13. The same actress is in this Swiffer commercial, too. She's cute. And those Swiffer commercials are so dumb, they are funny.
  14. These numbers are bunk. Why? Because they don't take into account where most of the sales for independent acts such as organissimo come from. At least 80% of our sales happen at the gig. Those sales are not tracked by Soundscan, unlike sales from CDBaby or brick and mortar stores. I am willing to bet that the same is true for most other independent bands out there. So multiply that by thousands of bands playing on a given night and selling product... and you can see what I'm talking about. In regards to the music we do sell at CDBaby, most of it is through download services like iTunes. We barely sell CDs. CDs are for gigs. People want something that they can take home to remind them of the show they just experienced. More music is being produced and sold today than at any other time in human history. It's just not controlled by a handful of major labels anymore. Yes, they are hurting. But we're doing just fine, thanks! We're already out of debt on the current CD, which is incredible to me considering it took over two years to get out of debt on the first one (and about the same on the second). People are still buying CDs.
  15. Yeah, those Don Patterson sides from the same era with Martino are some of my favs.
  16. I think one of the reasons why this is such a nice record is there are no pretensions. Just some great players making music.
  17. He's probably talking about our version that's available as a free download. Grand Rapids area saxophonist Johnny Gist. Same fellow as on "This Is The Place".
  18. Not so fast. There is talk about the Lions going after some new management and coaching. We already know that they own a fistful of high picks in the draft. Teams can turn around quickly in the NFL. Lions have been to ONE playoff game in the 40 years that Ford has owned the team. Unless he suddenly figures out how to run a football team and how to hire talented managers... or until he sells the team... nothing will change.
  19. BeBop, sorry to hear about this. Good luck with your recovery and hang in there. Are you going to be tied down at one place for a bit? Perhaps it's time to send those organissimo albums now?
  20. All you guys bitching about your teams not being in the playoffs can kiss my butt. At least your teams WON a game. Marinelli is out, but big whoop. The same doorknobs that were here under Matt Millen are still here and got promoted. Look for another abysmal season next year. Here's hoping no one is stupid enough to actually buy a ticket and support this worthless franchise.
  21. I don't think he likes our music. Or perhaps we don't fit what he has/wants/likes to play on his show. He plays some nice stuff, but it's very traditional. I don't think bugging him with an email campaign is going to change that, nor do I really see what the point is. I'm more concerned with getting gigs right now than who is or isn't playing our stuff on terrestrial radio. If we were going to take the time to organize an email campaign, I'd rather it go to the director of a good, large scale festival.
  22. I can't believe ST:TNG started in 1987. I remember when it started, my dad was so excited, he taped every single episode. He was a big sci-fi / Star Trek nut, though he didn't like DS9 or Enterprise. My wife belittles me if I watch old re-runs, so I just do so when she's gone to bed.
