  1. The clouds do not look the right scale as compared to everything else. Well, the trees don't look the right scale either. I don't think it's a real photo.
  2. Yeah, Alan emailed me today and told me that story... that just cracks me up!!! I'm glad it is in good hands! And welcome to the board!
  3. Updated tray card with song titles, times, and recording info for those who want it (and like the order Big Al came up with). This is what I'm sending to stations.
  4. Well, the cool thing about this record is that Jack was still in good form. I think this was before his stroke, which really affected his playing. Joey seems to inspire him to play some pretty cool stuff and at the same time he acts as a counter to Joey's playing.
  5. Excellent idea! He puts up with us fer chrissakes! Nah, don't worry about it. I've got everything I could ask for. A beautiful wife and child, a roof over my head, a great job... That said, if you'd like to donate $5 to the server costs this month, that would be great.
  6. So you agreed not to buy HER anything. You could still get YOURSELF something right? My wife recently bought some photos of our youngest that were a bit more expensive than expected. (I'm ashamed to even give the amount) She has stated that this will be her Christmas present. I have been married 7+ years and know darn well I'll be in a load of trouble if I don't get her a gift! But beyond that I would miss out on giving her something special. I've got a couple things so far she's really going to like. (After 7+ years I'm starting to figure her out.) All that said, Jim, you gotta get her SOMETHING. Even if it isn't much or you make it yourself (You could write her a song.) It really is the thought that counts and in this difficult time it will mean that much more to her. Remember The Gift of the Magi? Write her a song?!?! Man, that's too hard.
  7. Jack squat. My wife and I agreed to not buy each other anything this Christmas because money is just too tight.
  8. Nero is a really great program if you can afford it. $50 really isn't that much. You can rip audio to numerous formats, you can edit files, you burn and create ISOs, etc. etc. I have it on all three of my computers and have been using it exclusively for years.
  9. So does this mean that once Detroit whups the Heat again in the Eastern Conference Finals, and Miami riots, will Shaq be called up to put the smack-down on his own fans?
  10. It sucks on PC. I agree that its great on Mac.
  11. Yeah, that's what it is here, too. The old oak in the back yard (which is also crushing the side of my garage (but that's because the dumbasses built it too close)) has roots-a-plenty in the pipes. What a drag.
  12. I like it. If only for Jack's intro to "Yesterdays". One of the best intros to a tune period. But the rest of it is mighty fine as well.
  13. Joe and I drove through that on the way home from Grand Rapids last night. Thankfully, I play in town tonight. Unthankfully, I came home to raw sewage in my basement. The Roto-Rooter guy is here now.
  14. Then again, re-reading the quote, it doesn't necessarily mean that specifically in 1934 Morris introduced the Hammond organ to gospel. It just means he was hired in 1934. I seem to remember that the Hammond model A was unveiled in 1935.
  15. D'oh, you're right! That's what I get for another night of no sleep. Damn, 1934 is pretty early, then. Hammond must've just invented it.
  16. I "quoted" it, yes. There is another quote from a tune in there as well.
  17. Is Metheny nominated for a Grammy every year?
  18. Philly. It makes sense that this would be in Chicago, however, because the Hammond Organ Co. was located on Michigan Ave in Chicago. Jimmy Smith didn't get started on organ until the mid-50s, by which time the Hammond was everywhere, especially black churches due to it being an inexpensive alternative to a real pipe organ.
  19. Uh Matt, I think you're supposed to leave those CDs in the stations library... I boldfaced (and edited a bit) the most important release of 2005.
  20. 1934 is pretty early for Hammonds. I think the very first ones were introduced to the world at the 1930 World's Fair in NYC. So it doesn't seem out of sorts.
  21. This is a weird thread. Time for it to die.
  22. I'm surprised at how unpopular James is. I thought that name never went out of style. Zora, however, has been out of vogue since the 40s! Perfect!
  23. Damn Chuck... whatcha gonna do to my Hammond?!
  24. What language is that in the sub & supertitles? This is leaked slightly early. Holy crap. I realize that isn't the best video quality, but from the looks of that it seems like WETA is kicking ILM's ass. Wow.
  25. That's wacky. It's working fine for me. What kind of computer are you using?
