  1. Chatterbox seems like a nice place, but the stage is far too small for us. Greg talked to someone there. I guess there's a piano which is not movable and no room for an organ. Any other ideas? I did send a kit to the Indy Jazz Fest. We'll see what happens there...
  2. This is what happens when unions go bad. I agree with Rooster. Get some custom-molded ear plugs if you're that concerned about it. "But who's going to pay for that!?" You are. You spent thousands of dollars on your instrument, you can afford to put a couple of hundred bucks into your ears.
  3. Dang, that was fast shipping! They got here today, and not a moment too soon as I'm out of magenta! I'll be trying them out later tonight.
  4. I would, but he'd probably reply with "You first!" And I ain't touchin' my Leslie volume.
  5. Jeez, now I'm feeling guilty. Thanks, guys! Actually, I've noticed that I've lost a little weight recently. I've consciously tried not eating (much) after gigs, and cutting out a lot of sugar from my diet. I fell prey to my cravings and bought a 2 liter of Sprite the other day (which is already gone) and I've decided that's the last one I'll buy for a long time. Water is what I'm drinking now. I've already cut out pop from gigs. I used to drink a lot of pop on the gig. Now it's only water. I'm very proud of my wife. She gave up Diet Coke at the beginning of the summer (at my request). When I met her, she used to drink a lot of the stuff. She cut it down to one can a day. And then she totally cut it off this summer. She admitted that she took a sip (her first one) the other day and couldn't stand the taste of it. Good work, guys! Keep it going!
  6. Larry, most likely this was due to the way we set-up at HotHouse, which was different than how we usually arrange ourselves. Randy is normally in the middle, with Joe and I flanking him on either side, which separates the two of us well. Lately, however, we've been having problems with Joe's amp rattling Randy's snare, so we thought we'd try setting up with me in the middle and Randy and Joe as far apart as we could. But from what you say, it might be better to stick with what we've been doing. Thanks for the observation!
  7. Thank you, Mitchell. You've gone far above and beyond and we really appreciate all your help!
  8. VPI still makes some nice, albeit pricey, turntables. I have a VPI HW Jr. (I think that's what the model is) that is a great turntable. As I'm selling off the rest of my "audiophile" gear, the turntable is the only thing that I am definitely keeping.
  9. We'll be recording again, too. Just because we're crazy like that...
  10. uh... I think that one's going on the website. Thanks, Dan! Anyone in Chicago: Can you pick me up three copies and mail 'em to me? I'll pay for them and postage of course. Thanks!
  11. I'll be curious about the article! Thanks, Larry!
  12. We did. I tried to record the GVU gig this afternoon as well but had a little problem with my computer. I don't remember exactly what we played last night, but I know it included: Mellow Mood Jimmy Smith Goes To Washington Greaze Monkey Stomp Yo' Feets Pumpkin Pie Why Not Tenderly That's about all I recall. I'll listen to the stuff this weekend and give a full report.
  13. "Hammond B-3s have more fiber." I like that! Although I think both Joe and I use chewy chords now and again. Larry, it was great to see you again last night. Thank you for bringing out John and Terry. I heard from Mitchell that Neil wanted to make it but was feeling under the weather. The turnout was not anywhere near as high as I would've hoped, but that seems to be par for the course these days. And anyway, the quality of the crowd far outweighed the quantity, with Larry, John, and Terry in attendance as well as two gentlemen who drove over 70 miles to see us (now that's what I'm talking about!) Thanks again!
  14. 8 minutes until we hit the stage. If you're in Chicago, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE! What's $12 for some good, funky organ jazz!?!
  15. That's a decent price (about $7 a piece for R200 cartridges) but the ones on eBay can be as cheap as $2 a piece. One seller is selling 36 cartridges (6 of each color) for $80! That's cheap. I ordered 12 cartridges (2 sets) for $30. I'll let y'all know how they work.
  16. Larry, it would be great to see you! I hope you can make it!
  17. That was a strange outage. It took me forever to get a hold of Tech Support, but once I did they fixed the problem in about 30 seconds. It seems none of my website's IP addresses were bound (binded?) to the server. Meaning that if you tried to connect to them, CIHost's DNS servers would route you to my server, but then my server would be like, "What you talkin' bout, Willis? Organiss-a-what?" and just sit there. Weird.
  18. It is available. It says it's not, but it is. What that means is that Amazon doesn't have any in-stock. But if you order it, they'll get it. It's kind of annoying.
  19. That's a real drag, Jim and I offer my condolences.
  20. Sometimes I just gotta take things into my own hands. I've never had an issue with tech support, but after emailing them several times, staying on hold for way too long and no one coming to the phone, I decided to figure out how to change my server's time by myself and by golly I did it! Google is a wonderful thing!
  21. The seller has a 100% feedback rating, which gives me a lot of confidence in the product. I think it's worth a shot. I am going to be a printin' fool this weekend.
  22. Gotta stay competitive I suppose. I'd like to use the picture in my sig and call the album "organissimo: music for private moments on private jets"
  23. Well, that Casualties of Jazz cover begs to differ...
