Indiana moves towards Daylight Savings Time
Jim Alfredson replied to ghost of miles's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Daylight savings time sucks. I wish the whole country would get rid of it. -

It would disappear if people would stop posting to it. -
No, I'm just running around the house. Yeah, I played organ in a country band. My poor dad helped me haul around my Hammond M3 (didn't have the B3 yet) since I couldn't drive. I played a little piano on a synth, too. It was a lot of fun!

I'd like to add that I was in my first band when I was about your age. It was a country cover band (I didn't really like country, but they had paying gigs!) and all the members except for me where middle-aged with two or more kids my age. It was funny! We used to play beer tents and Fourth of July parties and such!

Go get 'em, tiger!!!

Organissimo is in the studio...
Jim Alfredson replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in organissimo - The Band Discussion
You are correct, sir!!! -
Bill is a staple of the Michigan scene and lots of cats around here have played with him. Someone was just telling me they played with him a few weeks ago... can't remember who, though. He's a nice cat!

Thanks again to everyone who has donated/pre-ordered the disc! Your monies have helped us pay our fantastic sidemen for this project, Johnny Gist and Bill Vits! The window is still open, however! If you still want to get in on the Level 4 deal, or any tier for that matter, you've still got time! I will probably do a cut-off for Level 4 about a week before the project goes to the printer. The others will remain open even after the CD is released. Anyway, after spending the last few weeks listening to the rough cuts, we've decided to go back into the studio and re-track one tune. The tempo just isn't right on the current cut and we're looking for perfection! Hopefully we'll be able to get back in sometime in May but it might take as long as June 3rd or 4th. Glenn is super busy, and the gig season is starting to pick up so we're busy as well. Board member Noj has been working hard on the artwork for the CD and it looks fantastic! The tentative title for the project is a quote from Chuck Nessa: "This is the place!" Thanks again for your support and patience. I can say in all honesty that this record is going to turn some heads. -
Good to see that ss1 sees the light. The Pistons are going to win it again, folks. :bwallace: (two Ben Wallaces for two trophies!!)

I doubt it. Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio are going to beat any eastern team because they are better. Houston is a bit of a sleeper but Dallas played exceptionally poorly in that 1st game and I really don't expect that continue. Guy I don't know about that. Here's Detroit schedule vs. those western teams you mentioned. Fri Dec 3 at San Antonio L 77-80 Mon Dec 6 at Dallas W 101-85 Mon Jan 17 Phoenix W 94-80 Thu Mar 3 at Phoenix L 97-100 Sun Mar 20 San Antonio W 110-101 Mon Mar 28 Dallas L 88-95 Looks like it's neck and neck. Notice the two losses to San Antonio and Phoenix were by only 3 points, too. I don't think you're giving the Pistons enough credit. As for Houston, the Pistons beat them both times they met this season and quite handily. Now let's look at the Heat's regular season games against those three western teams: Thu Nov 11 Dallas L 93-113 Fri Nov 12 at San Antonio L 84-93 Tue Jan 11 at Phoenix L 107-122 Tue Feb 1 at Dallas L 104-109 Sun Feb 13 San Antonio W 96-92 Fri Mar 25 Phoenix W 125-115 Youch! Pretty nasty! I'll take the Pistons vs. any team in the west, thank you! GO PISTONS!!!

I will update this soon. I've just been really really busy these past few weeks. April was a crazy month for me. Sorry folks!

It's ok, rachel. The Pacers might get past the first round.

Great record. I just pulled that one out a few weeks ago and listened again.

I'm so angry right now... Jeff, that was some total bullshit. I just spent the last 15 minutes deleting all those stupid fuckin' posts of yours. If you ever do that again, you're gone. I'm down here in Boca Raton, working 18+ hour days since Sunday, I check in to the board on a break to relax for a few minutes only to find a bunch of dumbass, middle-school bullshit like that. Thanks a lot. Just because you don't like a thread doesn't mean you can shitbomb it with a bunch of spam. That's really annoying and would get you banned on any other forum. For fuck's sake, you people can really act like a bunch of stupid shithead kids sometimes. This whole fucking thread sucks.

Poor ss1... still bitter about his beloved Lakers. As if last night's Charlotte game meant anything to anyone other than the fans in Charlotte's arena.

Dang! Good score!

I misnamed the title, imo. I shouldnt of wrote, 'the worst,' but who do you dislike more. Didn't mean for it to get out of hand. And personally, from all the attacks thrown at Kenny G here, I don't think what I said was as bad as what I heard. Whatever it may be, childish, stupid, it can't be changed. Not only is it childish and stupid, it doesn't even make sense. I mean, it's Kenny G, pronounced "gee". Something like Kenny G-whiz or Kenny Geez would make sense, but gay is a totally different sounding word. Man... what are they teaching the kids in schools these days? By the way, I'm choosing not to be gay right now. But the next post, watch out! I love a parade.

Darko is still not ready for primetime and it remains to be seen whether or not he will live up to his draft pick number. Joe D seems to know what he's doing, but the jury is still out on Darko. Then again, he's only 19!!

One thing Joe and I did years ago was run a rehearsal with blindfolds on. It was our drummer's idea (not Randy... this was before the Randissimo) and it was really interesting. We need to do that again. It really makes you concentrate on your ears. The eyes can get in the way sometimes (also true for modern recording... looking at a computer screen while mixing can be misleading).
