  1. Because we live in the land of no-fault insurance! That way everybody pays no matter if you're the drunk driver or the person who's legs got broke because of it! God bless America!
  2. I have to admit, I was upset. I liked Carlisle. But seeing him vs. Larry Brown in the Pacers vs. Pistons series, I finally saw why Dumars did what he did. Brown outcoached every coach in the playoffs. I am eating crow, for sure.
  3. It's a bar... I'm not so sure 17 year olds can get in. Although I did see some real young kids there last night with their softball-team playing dads, so who knows? I'll have Randy ask.
  4. I like this one: Internet law?
  5. I'd like to see a marrissam Mosaic set but considering the price of her single albums it would cost between $10,000 and $20,000 per set.
  6. I just put $900 into my car in the last month. But then again I just turned 100,000 on it, so it's due. Still sucks.
  7. Happy birthday, my brother from another mother!
  8. Big Al, please note the time change on the homepage. I had the wrong time listed.
  9. I think it goes up after verification. It's a safety measure by them. Thank you, by the way!
  10. I think Shirley Scott has three records on this label. If I'm remembering correctly and it is indeed Candid, the records SMOKE!
  11. Hm... interesting idea. Although you can get hotmails and yahoos for free. Of course, their storage limits suck and they charge you for POP service so you can't use them with Outlook without paying. Hm....
  12. Our main webpage has been updated with our July schedule. You can view it at www.organissimo.org and then click on "schedule/gigs". We hope to see some of you board crazies at some gigs!!
  13. In Lansing the mayor and City Coucil just ruled that the local fireworks mega-store can't sell it's products in the city anymore. So now what are the owners of the building going to do? Rent it to a porno super store!!!! I think I'd rather have the fireworks.
  14. I'm so sorry, folks. The recent problems were all related to mySQL getting corrupted (not the database... the thing that runs the database). I hope to get the new server by next weekend.
  15. It must be those lawsuits by the RIAA against 12 year old girls. God bless them!
  16. This is not the policy anymore. Mike made a mistake and he corrected it. He has no problem allowing me to post about Organissimo's downtime and has repeatedly invited me to do so. We all make mistakes.
  17. Dude, it's going to be ALL Loverboy covers, didn't you hear?!
  18. Yes, she's-a-workin' agin... YEEEE-HAAAW!
  19. Yes, they've been cached this whole time! I just got a buttload myself. A metric buttload, in fact.
  20. Don't sweat it, Rainy Day. Re: banner ads. I'd like to stay away from them if possible. I find them annoying. Besides, I don't want to be dependent upon some company for bread because that may affect what people can say here. Just imagine we got a Mosaic banner ad and they released a new set that was a piece of crap and it was panned on this board (ok, a long shot, but humor me!) They probably wouldn't be happy. The server I'm looking at costs about $400. I am currently spending $6 a month for this site. I have no problem kicking that up to $10, maybe even $20. So that's another $30 per month that we'll need to raise. It can be just like public radio! We'll have an annual fundraiser where you can't read or post to any topics until we reach our pledge goal!!! Ok, maybe not! That would be annoying too. Actually, I could maybe get Randy and Joe to help pay for the site, since they don't do shit! Ha! We'll make it work. I don't want to make donations voluntary and I don't want to screw up the vibe of this place by messing around with advertisers. If you can throw a little bread our way now and again, we'll appreciate it. Oh, and I expect everyone to buy multiple copies of our next CD when it comes out!
  21. According to server-master Ken from The Chain: "There was a corrupted table in your database. I corrected it, should be all of your problem." Email system is still not functioning. He's working on that! Thank you all for your patience.
  22. Hi folks, Well, we've been having problems lately, as all of you know. I talked to my server admin today and we've determined the best course of action is to transfer "The Big O" to it's own server. Right now it shares a server with hundreds of other websites, which sometimes causes conflicts. With our own server, we can fine-tune mySQL and PHP to our specific needs (ie, hosting a forums) which will dramatically reduce downtime and silly errors like we have right now (ie, the searce function not working, email not working). The cost? If I supply the server, then it will be between $50 and $75 per month, depending on how much bandwidth we need. Not bad. My brother and I are going to meet tonight to discuss building a server (since we build computers all the time anyway). To date our members have donated $400 towards the board. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This will help tremendously with our goals. I will keep you all updated on our progress. ----Jim
  23. I've never heard Nick Drake actually, nor a Steely Dan tune that sounded like this. Great Joe, just shoot the man down.
  24. Yes, I'm aware of the problem and I'm not too thrilled. Our email system has been down for two weeks or more and now this. So, anyone know some good hosting?
