The only one I have is pretty nice: Duet, with Sylvan Luc.
  2. ...including an organ trio:
  3. How about mashed potato-flavored green tea?
  4. Another thread on the subject. I like it. Definately not a dud.
  5. Looks like Mammy's Little Sunny Honey Boy needs a shave!
  6. Hey - I bought a copy of Ask the Ages based on what I read about it in RS. In addition, ... uh, I guess there's nothing in addition to that. Carry on (my wayward son - did that make the list? )...
  7. Don't mean to negate the warm sentiment here, but I just thought of a tune title: "Blues for Alison"
  8. Are you feeling the , Alison? I'm so sorry you're going through this, but hopefully it will be better soon.
  9. ugh. There should have been a stronger warning.
  10. Looks good. I'll be keeping an eye out for it.
  11. I'm never returning to the political forum again.
  12. I knew I was forgetting something!
  13. A bit of discussion on this here. Welcome, milesfreak!
  14. My wife has a serious chronic condition, and so we've been dealing with the medical community on a regular basis for quite a few years (she, pretty much all her life, me for the last 14 years). There are good ones and bad ones and everything in between, as in any field. Several doctors and nurses have gone way out of their way to help us, and I think on the average most of the professionals we've met are doing it for the right reasons.
  15. ... and the vanilla is good for smoothies!
  16. SILK is all I drink now for milk products. I've worked my way down to the unsweetened stuff in the green container. I do like the chocolate and the latte, too.
  17. When we were in the studio with Ron Blake, he put it like this: "FUCK perfection!" Not hard for a bunch of homemade changes guys like us.
  18. Oh, and BTW, I totally hear what Sangrey was saying about this music being "of the street" and lived not learned.
  19. The first Hewitt cd came in the mail a couple of days ago, and I've listened to it straight through twice now. I came back to this thread hoping for some extra insight. I found Luke's comment to be very interesting, since that was my thought exactly. For me, listening to Frank's improvisations is like reading Plato's Dialogues. You have to bring your full intellectual/musical/whatever resources to bear on the issue. I not sure how capable I am of plumbing the depths at this point, but I'm enjoying the music regardless. I'm kind of glad that it's mostly medium-slow standards, so at least I'm not getting lost in the form! A beautiful sound though, both in the playing and the recording. I have to say, that has to be the oddest arco sound I've ever heard.
  20. You stupid-ass donkey who no like jazz!
  21. I've read that Bill (and Miles) got more than a little flak from black audiences who didn't like the fact that a white man was holding down the piano chair in Miles' band. His bandmates (notably Cannonball) defended him, but he could only take so much of that.
  22. Leeway's post makes the points I was going to make. If I can help in any way, don't hesitate to ask, bro.
  23. There's something about this guy that I can't quite put my finger on...
