    Steve Swallow is a favorite of mine, and Jaco gets props in any list like this. A few that aren't on up there whom I like are Jeff Berlin, Richard Bona, Kai Eckhardt, and Gary Willis. Christian McBride is much better doing double-duty than Holland or Carter.

    No, it's not exactly analogous. We sort of veered off topic a bit when Noj quoted someone from another board about how a person that throws a drink on you in a bar is due an ass whoopin'.

    If it would de-escalate the situation, absolutely. Though a better line might be, "Hey, looks like the drinks are on me!" Usually when I'm in a bar, it's to provide entertainment, not security. I'll leave the ejection to the doorman.

    Thanks, David. Unfortunately, Michelle's been on her sickbed all week, so Jim and I have (somewhat) been in the same boat. We're just hoping she'll be better by Thursday so we can trek up to my parents' for Thanksgiving.
