Saw something yesterday that had me shaking my head. I pulled up to a red light, in the center lane at the front of the line, with one car to my right in the "right turn only" lane. So, the light, as I said, was red. The person next to me was doing just what I would do: stop there for a moment to see where the traffic was coming from before pulling out onto a busy two lane road. But after about 2 seconds had elapsed, this joker in a Yukon with the shiny wheels and the boomin' system pulls up behind the other car, blares his horn before even coming to a stop, and yells something out the window. I turn to look, and it's some clean-cut suburban looking dude, young, but old enough to know better. We made eye contact, and I mouthed the words "CALM DOWN" - to no avail. The car ahead of him turns out onto the road, and he roars off, shortly thereafter maliciously cutting them off, even though it's two lanes at that point and there's no reason for him to even move into that lane. People like that are a menace to society, but the worst part is, they don't see it that way - they think it's everyone else's fault!

I don't have much Diorio on CD, but I do owe him a debt of gratitude for what I learned from his instructional video. Some good concepts that opened up my playing quite a bit when I encountered it in the early 90's.

I had heard (PLEASE correct me if it was wrong) that Joe had had a stroke and was no longer playing. What are the stats on this new live album?

Well, I tend to work mostly with the play-along sections, which are pretty hip and range from easy to (at the moment) out of my reach. The strange thing is that they aren't at standard pitch, so you have to tune sharp just a bit. No biggie. I've worked with his scale exercises a little, but I don't have a huge interest in that sort of thing nowdays. I have also not felt compelled to learn any lines from the solos, though there are some rippin' ones. Overall I'd say I'm happy with this purchase.

I've done some online "window shopping"; starting a cart then cancelling the order if it couldn't be saved (not at your site). Didn't know people were keeping track of that.

That little clip was fun to watch. What I wouldn't give for concert footage of Green, Jones, and Young!

Wish I was there, too! Especially if the weather's as nice there as it is here.

In my family, Easter celebrations have sort of fallen by the wayside. Used to be a family get-together, with a church service, then lots of food. I have fond memories of all that, but these days, if the family gets together on Easter, it's almost a coincidence. It does tie in with a couple of "rebirth" events for me: spring, my birthday (April 29th), and the like.

I had a dream last night that I was playing rhythm guitar for Eddie VH. The auditorium was nearly empty, the drummer was late, and the rest of the band came out dressed in big fuzzy bear suits. Courtney Love was hanging off my arm while I was waiting to play.
