Great how he's passing his thing on to such a young band (much in the way Miles used to do --see one more Miles comparison!). When I saw them, I really didn't want them to stop playing. Great innit. Hazy sunshine yesterday and today. Topless motoring for a bit yesterday. All of a sudden, the leaf buds on the trees outside the house have doubled in size. Smelt the wild garlic on beckside too. Summer is coming!!!

Had a good Friday; rode my bike, a fundraiser which I have helped organise for someone locally took place yesterday afternoon -- that was well attended and everyone had fun. Today: rode my bike then took off in the car to meet another local owner, so we could have a beer, talk spares, manifolds, gearboxes, cubes etc., while letting the kids play in playground. Tomorrow, ride bike for a long time and then hopefully have a nice relaxing evening with music, music, music. Once nipper's in bed of course. Wife is busy with orchestra all weekend ----

Not even a little one?

..the book I want. My boss kindly gave me £20 of book tokens for this half term. Now I haven't actually sat and read a book since the birth of my son in 2001 , partly because it was one of those activities that I 'could' give up, some others simply couldn't go. So anyway, I'm looking for Donald Maggin's 'A Life In Jazz' and can I hell find it. So never mind, I'll buy something else. So is it going to be 'Straight Life' or a book about Bill Evans which someone could recommend for me. Thing is, I know if I get the Art Pepper book, I'll want to go and get all those albums I'm missing and that's not going to happen for a while, whereas a good Evans book will complement my decent collection of his music. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
