Man, good thread before lunch! A stuffed breast option (Bell and Evans A+) I like is to bone them out, halve them and get rid of that white cartiledgy thing (yes I even take the endoplasmic thing out of my eggs), butterfly and give them a slight hammering. Stuff with a nice slice of smoked gouda and a few thins of proscuitto. Dredge in some spiced up flour (thyme, garlic etc..) and toss into a pan with hot olive oil and some butter at the last minute. Might need to toothpick them together. You can roll this as well.

googling shows these might be those that were released by Verve when CDs came about titled the "Compact Jazz" Series. the "Sampler". Jim's right on the Smith if this be the disc. yipes.

re: CD Connection. ordered an "in stock" item recently and teamed it w/ another disc for $hipping $ake. The "in stock" item turned out not to be, so I cancelled the order having tabbed their "let me know if incomplete" box prior to shipping. They charged me a re-stock fee to then cancel the other item. BOO! it was in the fine print though so beware! Not a Dusty Groove sort of thing to do by any means.

a friend of mine went on there with a product called "The Dirt B@ll". a rubber ball on a stick that you put a little micro fiber shower cap onto and spray with solution to help get scuffs off the floor and clean around tubs and such. SILLY! but he actually sold these things!! the hoops he had to jump thru to get on that show. he was ready to strangle this little queer eye for the straight guy host that kept talking over him the whole time. truly a whole nuther world.... but, hey, if your average viewer ever tuned in here... my mother watches that stuff as well. actually called to ask me about Chris Botti!!!! fer god sakes i told her "lets just say he's no Wynton Marsalis!!!"

What's the face material made of? Never used the ink jet ready discs. Is it a paper coating??

Boy Disc Two is even tougher than the first. Not too well versed on harmon mutes and the whos that play them but Cary likes his muted horn fer certain. T1- No clue here and trying to like this line up. T2- Some bootlegged Miles. Is that too splashy to be Tony Williams? Sound like him to me and I could not pick that out. Is this the Japan concert w/ Rivers?? I'm really just guessing. T3- Now not knowing tone of vibists I might actually bet money that this is Hutcherson. Cary turned me on to much of Hutch's out of print stuff years ago and thanks again! This, if it is, is probably in my files. T4- paging JimR! T5- Another piece that reminds me of the break on disc one. I'm guessing Dave Douglas here. Very nice piece. The electrofied keybs remind me of some of those later day Sidran albums. This is a pretty cool tune that I first passed by on take one. T6- More mutes ... not Miles but ... T7- Whoa boy! I see that Marty sez he met him (other thread). I actually sketched him at a club in NYC when he was sitting in w/ the Messengers. Butcher paper and crayons at every table so how could one resist. My table mates tore it out and showed him. Nice cuts to include. T10- Wait what's this. No discs with me but this is ARIC'S main face. "Swingin @ Sugar Rays" ? T11- Damn, what is this. I got this on the tip of the vibe mallet. Hutcherson again reprising a standard of his?? It is the trumpet players date, no? This is cookin'! T12- Oh a tricky one, Samba de Orpheus ... but based upon that debate on the BNBB we are not certain that this is who it sez it is are we or did I just miss who it really is when Soul Stream figured it all out. Anyway it's GG from that album named after midwestern beer. T13- Knowing the completist in .:. I'm tossing up a guess that this is from the Wilson Mosaic. I recall that there are some weird tunes on that and that .:. has it for the Hutcherson who is not heard here but if that is not it then I am a fool. Not sure how much I get into the hand drums and berimbau in the lush big band setting as I usually like that exotica chees on top. If it is that PacJazz set then maybe all ya'll will go and buy it so it goes out of print and i can call Mosaic and get the first disc only. A very nice couple of discs and seeing the few results already it seems you have stumped the big guns over on thread one. Anxious to lurk amid the discussion.

Jimmy Smith was truly my ONLY intro to jazz when I was a kid. The single of "Walk on the Wild Side" was on the jukebox at the diner where we would eat about once a week. Many a nickel went into that machine as that cut was also played at home via 'Bashin!' and probably the only tune recognizable to me in those days.
