  1. that's a beaut!!!! "nicedriveway" as they say.
  2. Yeah, especially that special camera that can cast white reflections under blue objects. Funny they look like this on mine.
  3. sorry i forgot the smileys. i heartily agree, Lon ... and thats "konszonanzntz" for all the Poles now offended.
  4. these Miro sans Helvetica:
  5. you know them artsy fartsy dudes. never satisfied, always complaining. it seems a bit unbalanced. but "what would reid do?" more consonants, more consonants!
  6. nice thread going here. just now looked. deus - top notch cover and all for the basie live roulettes. did you construct that icon for the montoliu cover...? nice! like them brasilian links ... lots of saul bass in the amazon. john, some of those old arty polish covers from a couple years ago were great inspiration.
  7. makes my ass laugh too but my kids always yell at me when that happens.
  8. Thank God it didn't get into the sewer system ... no telling what those things are capable of when they multiply!
  9. Unkle Skid sed: Why can't Organissimo do a link through (gotta be a better slang for this) with a couple of sites we all enjoy for spending that dough on discs? Maybe only a simple banner embedded on the opening forum page that allows the O to get a little everytime. I will clik through alankin's Jazzamatazz to hit CDUniverse for example. Not certain of the troubles but seems to be a good way to keep it all floating.
  10. Dad sometimes said when lifting a weighty object: "that's heavy enough to cut washers off yer bung-hole".
  11. Think if this guy might have lit them and done some nice abstract wood burnings with the pup. He'd certainly get a bit more than 1.24 Pounds Sterling.
  12. HOLY COUW JOHN! Thanks a bunch!
  13. that cakes a beauty, maren. i can almost see the grape hyacinths blooming under the snow, i mean icing. Happy Birthday Mike!
  14. Well I guess I started something with only an limited life-span. At least the subject of the thread was the thread killer this time. Some great jazz zluething thus far and when Verve re-issues this we can make it an album of the week.
  15. a few years back Verve Japan released a box set of CD re-issues entitled "The David Stone Martin Collection" all in mini LP replicas. recall it was a beautiful little expensive box.
  16. ...and whoever jumps on one of those Mint- LPs and transfers them onto shiny silver has to share!
  17. you guys are goood! i was convinced it was Jimmy Smith. now be sure to load up that "New York Sweet". Zorn's 'Spillane' owes this one. it's wack!
  18. posting this on the board is perfectly fine! some of you guys act like your selling the holy grail at times and posting the fact that some one has no respect for a transaction and taking someone's money as if it is due to them is sometimes the only way to vent out the fact that you got hosed a bit. if your going to sell a mosaic set then put it in a nice box, use some old sunday funnies and a little tape and get on with it. not that hard to do.
  19. not that it makes a bit of difference but i compared the cut "Hard Latin" to a take contained on a Motor Music Mad Soundtracks collection and the version from these mp3s is going at about 38 & 5/8. or maybe the CD is slower?
  20. and let's see, who was Creed Taylor's organist of choice in the middle sixties? no it can't be.
  21. "basichip" (courtesy of the couw) is featuring the Kenyon Hopkins soundtrack from the James Garner film "Mister Buddwing". Check out these two tracks and please let us know who might be on the organ. Sounds very much like that RVG at the knobs and maybe the guy pulling the others is recognizable to some. your hard drive will be happy! EDITED: as the site has changed the source. New and HUGE lp covers included. I can delete these as well.
  22. but pee wee doesn't sound like Steve Allen selling soap. so much for those Wes fans, then. "we're gonna get back to our, ah, great musical, ah, musicians here tonight..."
  23. as the teenage neighbor girl would say: "uh, like, yeah!"
  24. Neophyte here wondering why all the intros and overtalk by Alan Grant on this re-release. It would be fine for the starts but he's 'all over' the music. Not really my cup of tea as for historical value to have the emcee being quite so present. I had heard that twofer a while back and did not recall any of that being on the cuts. Was it??
  25. those two with drew are favorites!!
