  3. Here's a photograph I made at the Charles McPherson show a few hours ago at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago. Man, that guy can play!!! It's Charlie Parker month at the Showcase with McPherson, Lou Donaldson, Roy Haynes, Cedar Walton and others!!! Mark

  6. Happy Belated Birthday Allan!
  7. I've decided to try to unload them in a neighborhood garage sale tomorrow. I have about 400 lps, mostly rock albums from the 70's and 80's. Most are in great shape. Will I get $2.00-$3.00 each for these, is this too much to expect? Should I put one price for all? This sale is tomorrow 8/6 and Saturday 8/7 so any thoughts tonight would be greatly appreciated!!! Mark

  10. Down for a few hours...horrible, horrible. How many dead? Did Alexander Haig assume command? Isn't he dead?
  11. I'm not a big fan of the dentist although I go three times a year for check up/cleanings. There are many other things we all probably endure during the year that are worse than dental checkups!
  12. Joe told me he was updating the website this week, maybe he just hasn't got it done yet. I'll probably go over for the Sunday matinee show while your in town. Let me know if you can make that one! Mark
  13. Ernestine Anderson! I edited my original post to include shows through the end of October! Mark
  14. I believe I will be staring in the role of the caped crusader.....
  15. That's funny that you would post the photograph of Sal Nistico. Last night, Jim Neumann with Beehive Records gave me a copy of "Neo Nistico" that Sal recorded for Beehive in 1978. He told me that Sal once joked "My music will be more valuable when I die", Jim really liked Sal ! Mark
  16. I did indeed get an update list but left it on my desk at home. I will post the upcoming shows (many good ones) when I get home this evening! Mark
  17. Having just arrived home from seeing the Junior Mance Trio in Chicago , I was in Dusty Groove, Reckless Records and the Jazz Record Mart all before 1:30 today. Picked up several cds and a few lps for myself as well as a DVD for one board memeber and a cd for another. Talked to Junior and Jim Neumann from Beehive Records for awhile and went to dinner with Jim, lots of fun! Great day overall! Mark
  18. ....and what were you doing in the red light district??? Ummmm.....eating....... ...what were you eating??
  19. Yeah, I remember seeing David Sanchez, Dave Holland, Roy Hargrove, and Pharoah Sanders on there, but don't remember the months or days. And don't ever expect an answer to that e-mail. You won't get one. Correct on the e-mail issue, forget about it! I think Ernestine Anderson is also on the bill. There are many good ones coming, including McCoy Tyner. I'll follow up on Monday after I return!
  20. ...with Pharoah Sanders sitting in!
  21. ...I'm sure that's it .
  22. I've seen a few of these in the used cd bins in Chicago. If anyone is interested, I will look again. Mark
