  1. I believe I will be staring in the role of the caped crusader.....
  2. That's funny that you would post the photograph of Sal Nistico. Last night, Jim Neumann with Beehive Records gave me a copy of "Neo Nistico" that Sal recorded for Beehive in 1978. He told me that Sal once joked "My music will be more valuable when I die", Jim really liked Sal ! Mark
  3. I did indeed get an update list but left it on my desk at home. I will post the upcoming shows (many good ones) when I get home this evening! Mark
  4. Having just arrived home from seeing the Junior Mance Trio in Chicago , I was in Dusty Groove, Reckless Records and the Jazz Record Mart all before 1:30 today. Picked up several cds and a few lps for myself as well as a DVD for one board memeber and a cd for another. Talked to Junior and Jim Neumann from Beehive Records for awhile and went to dinner with Jim, lots of fun! Great day overall! Mark
  5. ....and what were you doing in the red light district??? Ummmm.....eating....... ...what were you eating??
  6. Yeah, I remember seeing David Sanchez, Dave Holland, Roy Hargrove, and Pharoah Sanders on there, but don't remember the months or days. And don't ever expect an answer to that e-mail. You won't get one. Correct on the e-mail issue, forget about it! I think Ernestine Anderson is also on the bill. There are many good ones coming, including McCoy Tyner. I'll follow up on Monday after I return!
  7. ...with Pharoah Sanders sitting in!
  8. ...I'm sure that's it .
  9. I've seen a few of these in the used cd bins in Chicago. If anyone is interested, I will look again. Mark
  10. ....and what were you doing in the red light district???
  11. There may have been an weapon in the Pay Day !
  12. I'll be there on Sunday and will get the info. I think I have some of them jotted down around here somewhere. I'll post something Sunday night. Thanks, Mark
  13. I really was confused , I thought you really were looking forward to it. I'm not really bothered that you don't like Sonny, I'm just pokin' a little fun at you; to each his own! Mark
  14. Have a glass for me! Happy Birthday!!!
  15. I thought you hated Sonny and his playing (lame shit)? fa.ce.tious ...my fault, I must have read more into your previous posts .....in any event, I can't wait to hear this, will pick it up at the Dusty Groove this week (those bastards) . Mark (you could just spell it "facetious", I can figure it out)
  16. I thought you hated Sonny and his playing (lame shit)?
  17. I already have this, but if not, I would probably bid a couple bucks .
  18. It not always a matter of getting them to say "yes or no", but many times an issue of money. Many times they want much, much, much more money than the owner of the music will ever get in return. Often, the musician or family members just don't want it released, period. I'm sure it's more difficult than it appears from our end! ....and if it were that easy, we would see that much more!
  19. ...and the wonderful tenor player David Young!!!
  20. when's that bastard going to release some of the recordings that were made at his club (and i'm not talking about sonny rollins or barney wilen (sp?).
  21. I think last year Marcus Strickland was playing with him but I'd have to refer to my photographs to be sure. Sal may know as I belive he was there also....Sal??? Mark
