  1. Good advice, but it's Santa Fe, not Sante Fe. The flea market is north of town near the opera house. It's run by Tesuque pueblo. Unfortunately they've lost a lot of vendors, & it's not as good as it used to be. ....oops, thanks for throwing me under the bus on my spelling of Santa; maybe John didn't notice!!! You are correct on the flea market, used to be pretty cool!
  2. I've been to New Mexico several times and really love Sante Fe and Taos. If you like Mexican Missions, visit this one... http://www.newmexico.org/place/loc/favorit.../place/634.html Very interesting and not too far from Sante Fe. I have White water rafted on the Rio Grand several times; there is a stretch called the "Taos Box" that is pretty wild....the Animas river rocks as well! The area know as Abique is interesting as well. Georgia O'Keeffe spent the final years of here life there. You can see the adobe (I think) home she lived in but the locals are not really hip to you taking photos of it. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum http://www.okeeffemuseum.org/indexflash.php if very nice as well; it's in downtown Sante Fe. There used to be a huge open air flea market with some amazing things right outside of Sante Fe, can't recall the name of it! If you like the arts/crafts scene, there is a place called "Canyon Road" with galleries, pricey food and chic shops!!! Lot's of stuff to do there....lots of food to eat as well!!! m~
  3. ...who's Aric?
  4. ....me too as I just finished cutting the lawn and I'm melting!!! m~
  5. Nothing tonight but starting Tuesday it's Nicholas Payton's tribute to Miles Davis, Wednesday night it's Bobby Broom, Thursday night it's Larry Kart/Lee Konitz at the Chicago Cultural Center and then down the street to Joshua Redman's 80th Birthday Tribute to John Coltrane at Symphony Center....and if that's not enough, the Chicago Jazz Fest kicks off Friday with our friends Organissimo, John Moulder, Lee Konitz, Jason Moran & Bandwagon w/Bunky Green, Joe Lovano, Maurice Brown, Donald Harrison, Joey D with Ron Blake and Dr. Lonnie Smith and more.....!!! Add the afterfest shows at the Jazz Showcase, Hot House and the Velvet and I won't get much sleep!!! m~
  6. ...what's wrong with the AAJ page??? I find it easy to use and better than anything else we have at the time!!!

  11. How so did Vandermark do this? I wasn't there last night, but IMO Dave Rempis is a much better saxophonist. It was another tenor player with blond hair; can't recall his name....I'll post a photo of the guy tonight. He flipped him off while playing at the Velvet after the Millennium gig. If was done in jest as they both laughed! Rempis was good as well! m~
  12. i, on the other hand, will take periodic naps to bolster my constitution, much to the chagrin of my chaperone above. ...don't you mean "non-stop"? m~ Ken Vandermark did the same thing to his other tenor player at last nights show....too slow and too tired to get a shot of it! m! ps, Rob, I"m sure you mean this with affection !
  13. i, on the other hand, will take periodic naps to bolster my constitution, much to the chagrin of my chaperone above. ...don't you mean "non-stop"? I find it hard to sleep while there is good music being played somewhere! I was in Chicago late last night and was listening to Chicago public radio on the ride home and they mentioned Organissimo several times as playing at this years festival and then kicked into one of their tunes off the latest cd! m~
  14. ..I'm crushed, you know how sensitive I am.... m~

  21. Still, I'll admit it's pretty impressive for NY to come into Fenway and take five. I don't remember that ever happening. This article sheds a little light on the history of five-game sweeps: [ ...also known as "salt in the wound"!
