  1. Excellent choice and album. I'm going to give this one a spin asap.
  2. As I recall, The Beguiled is one of the few Eastwood films that doesn't need any special pleading---it's just a good film. Can't remember the music, though.
  3. I like it, but then, I'm a glutton for punishment. "Too much of a good thing" is a complaint that you could level at many a Mosaic set, but as I had little Stitt in my collection before, I felt good about getting this one.
  4. Yesterday it was great---clear, sunny, beautiful! Today it's cold with a gray overcast and occasional showers. What a difference.
  5. Yeah, the FFC winery is a fun place to visit! A bit heavy on the merchandise, but I guess that's no surprise. I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to wines, but I like visiting wineries for some reason. (The free samples don't hurt.)
  6. That's the way to do it. I've always found Naxos to deliver good value for the money. Excellent label, hard to go wrong.
  7. She is; she's really nasty. BB is a staunch supporter of extreme right-wing French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen. Yikes! I'm beginning to feel like I'm in that Andy Richter show.
  8. It's usually a good idea to split up when you go shopping and meet at a pre-arranged place later (like a movie theater.) God knows, there aren't many women I'd want to subject to the protracted trolling for used CD's, books, and DVD's that is my version of "shopping." Actually, I'm pretty lucky: My wife rarely shops for shoes, NEVER for jewelry. God I love that woman!
  9. That's certainly something to look forward to...
  10. I'd rather not think about it.
  11. The Voice of the Dolphins, by Leo Szilard.
  12. Damn, I don't have it. Will have to keep an eye out for it.
  13. I like this one too.
  14. "That guy has the best job in the world!"--Neil Schweiber
  15. Great series! Love the Foster/Wallington.
  16. "Bump bump BUMP...ba-dump bump BUMP" Actually, movie soundtracks were the first type of record I started collecting, at about the age of 13. Now they tend to just be song compilations, but they used to be actual SCORES which would mentally put you back in the film.
  17. Yes indeed! If the movie had been as good as the music then it would have been one of the highlights of the 70's.
  18. Yes. (I think I had one in my old place.)
  19. Horace Silver--Serenade To A Soul Sister I know it's coming out, but the wait is killing me. Others: Here To Stay--Freddie Hubbard Davis Cup--Walter Davis, Jr. Smithville--Louis Smith
  20. People play it. That's my theory. Better yet, well-known people play it. And people buy the covers. And that causes still more people to cover it...and so on. Maybe.
  21. Lately it seems to be mostly mid/late 50's to mid 60's hardbop. Gee, you don't think this board could have been an influence there do you? B)
  22. deus, that bunny's never come to my house (which is probably just as well.) I plan to be hiding, and hunting, Easter eggs.
  23. You might enjoy renting Adaptation---the first half is great!
  24. Wait a minute, you mean Wynton Marsalis is still around?
  25. Maybe I'm just squeamish, but this creeps me out. Yuck!!!!
