  1. Foggy.
  2. Clearly a case of Freudian slip here. He meant to say "plucking."
  3. ...But at least you've got over five thousand posts.
  4. I say, when is Talk Like Bertie Wooster Day? Eh? What?
  5. ...Or show up at a 'town hall' meeting, waiving an "Obama = Hitler" sign.
  6. Yeah, that was really sad. There should be a special place in Hell for crooked managers like that.
  7. Like a bicycle.
  8. A new Eno remaster....
  9. That's why I'm worried about those kids on my lawn...they're just not swinging! Not only did the Beatles swing, but as "Come Together" will attest, they could also lay down a little funk. And then there's "She's A Woman"---reggae, or ska, or something close to it.
  10. Actually, all decent punk swings...or "rocks" to use the specific, technical term.
  11. Oh, for the days when rock and roll swung...and get off my lawn you damn kids!
  12. At the very least he was the Dave Tough.

    John Lennon

I agree. That first solo album is musically remarkable in a number of ways, but not least for Lennon's guitar playing and Ringo's drumming.
  14. Yes of course. But the thing is, it's almost impossible to keep up with the releases, and it makes no sense to buy the new ones as they come out an instead let older releases go OOP without buying them. If I had the funds, I'd just buy all the older releases and then keep up, but that's just no option, because - great as they are - there are other things I want to hear and explore, as well. And not to show off or anything, but owning 50+ large boxes (except for a few old vinyl ones and a few Euro Universal ones all bought directly from Mosaic) and 10 or so Selects and some Singles, I guess if Mosaic had a few thousand customers that committed, they'd be well off... I very much agree.
  15. I was a little kid when "Laugh-In" was on, but I remember him! Didn't know he got so much work since then, good for him. RIP
  16. :tup I bought it the day it was released by Criterion. It was unavailable for far too long.
  17. I've been a Chopin fan since high school.
  18. The short-haired blond kid was a riot!
  19. Dear God in heaven, the Organissimo Jazz Board has been around for six years? Holy 'time-sure-goes-by-fast' Batman!
  20. Dave Brubeck Quartet---The Riddle (vinyl)
  21. I should spin a few Cannonball discs in honor of the occasion!
  22. Loved his turn in Donnie Darko. And by all account a very nice guy. Sad news. RIP
  23. A great list, that. I would add only Alfie and maybe you should check out The Bridge as well.
