  1. I really don't give a fuck if this woman likes jazz or not.
  2. Very cool! I may have to get this. I liked his Kind of Blue book.
  3. I notice lately the ads only seem to be showing the Meryl Streep parts.
  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. Yeah. Duck thought he had Don over a barrel when he got himself appointed president of the newly merged subsidiary---then he finds out Don doesn't have a contract AND is a partner with 12%! Ha! Fuck you, Duck! (I'm also watching Season 2 on DVD but won't be able to catch up before Sunday. That's OK, though; I'm pretty sure I caught all of Season 2 when it was telecast.
  6. The worst part was the loud burping sound.
  7. One of my kids showed me a clip of this game from somewhere off the internet---it looked hilarious. But fun.
  8. I come down more on that side of the fence.
  9. I think you mean "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." I remember him on that show. (In fact, I think I was that show's only fan.) I dunno, I thought Hope Lange was kinda hot. The ghost dude was kinda creepy though. That's what I mean...back when the show was on I had a little-kid crush on Hope Lange. I really dug her. Then they canceled the show before it was on long enough to go into syndication, so it just dropped off the face of the earth. (And captain Gregg---the ghost---was cool. They managed to find an actor who really looked like Rex Harrison from the movie.)

  11. Yes, clearly that's where it comes from...but in Sinatra-speak, definitely spelled "koo-koo." Always thought that was a particularly brazen piece of lyrical effrontery.
  12. BTW, I saw the host, Ben Bailey, on a commercial a few years ago.
  13. My kids and I used to love watching this show! It really IS fun for the whole family! Haven't watched it much lately, though...
  14. Well, you shouldn't rob trains. I remember that nonsense of him recording with the Sex Pistols in Brazil. Didn't know he was still alive.
  15. You should. That means I got 20.
  16. "The Wheel" ---Another great episode. (Actually, the last four episodes of season one of Mad Men are all outstanding.)
  17. Sure, if I had been born 5, or more likely 10, years later I might have liked some of his stuff more. But as it was, born in '61, I was a little outside the demo. I always found more to carp about than like in his films. But I can dig where ghost is coming from.
  18. I think it's sad and rather shocking that the guy died so young, and my sympathy goes out to his family and friends, but honestly, I never cared for his movies.
  19. Wait, you mean music isn't popular anymore? No wonder CD sales are down!
  20. What a jerk.
  21. ...and it's a bus to Crazytown.
  22. Please don't beat Chuck.
  23. I was able to view it on facebook. Very nice! Jim, you rule!
  24. I was listening to the radio at 12 when they came out with their first albums. I was listening, but had no idea what the songs were about. Actually, at 15 I had a friend who was very into Steely Dan, and he kept playing their stuff for me and I just wasn't ready for it yet. I tried to like them, then decided I hated them (easy to do when I got into the whole punk thing at about 19) then finally came round to liking them for real in my mid-20's. So I have a long, checkered history with Steely Dan, but I like 'em. Really. (Well, there are a few tunes on Aja that I still can't abide, but apart from that...)
