  1. Hey be careful...walls have ears and all that
  2. Well I had the first 2 on japanese import and heard the lonehill for the Getting’ Into Somethin’ session which sounded fine to my ageing ears ( which seem to be growing more hairs...what IS going to happen to me that this needs to happen? I would regardless of the lonehill reputation get the seperates as they are nicely produced packaged etc
  3. As you have seen I also have little techie skills and only tried blogger but you can ban the comments from people who really liked your blue note site ...now look at my viagra blah blah and also the same with emails. This got really annoying at first and I think you can have it that all comments can be sent (ie approved) via you so in my European one party type of way I banned them all! I have not tried the wordpress or my space. I need something that I can edit quick and easy ( as I get the wrong facts or piccies) rather than a techie mate when they ain't busy so thats why I plumped for the blogger thing. It depends how often you want it changed, how much info you have to put up and what types...ie text and piccies or videos and music. I have only ventured on the first 2 as I have not got the first clue about sound and vision What do other people use? The main catch like all IT is to keep it upto date and visually appealing I guess.
  4. Mine was a dynamic reshuffling of my name to represent ....er.......my name Andy Bleaden
  5. We could run a competition to name as many jazz lps as we can ( no repeats) album title only til we get there....wait a mo a bit too focussed for me ...I would lose count
  6. I have those and no they were Eu issues. I remember at the time I had to return 2 copies of the BJP and 1 of the the Duke Pearson as they used to skip. Come to think of it after I had a look yesterday I can find my copy of Lou's Every thing I play's gonna be funky !! Who has hidden it then? Where could it be Help It might be lost
  7. Did it happen?
  8. Quite a nice long list and YES I know does not include some favourites of mine too but still ten years ago I never assumed all of these would be out.
  9. I guess that that is the same with many artists. I think what I love to read and see and witness is the growing appreciation of Big John Patton's music by other musicians. I feel his technique was markedly different than many other organists in many different ways as it demonstrated across the Blue Note output or in his releases in the 80's and 90's
  10. Not got this one or seen it as far as I remember. A quick trawl around the google sphere does not help that much either Best of luck and I will keep my eyes peeled. As for the comments about Fuel etc I know what you mean!
  11. oh 'eck then I read this (not a plug!!! ) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6478889.stm
  12. Just an update on this. My copy which I managed to get a little cheaper arrived on Saturday and I was astonished at how large it was. Came in its own little slip case as well . Started having a nose through over the weekend and its quite a nice little project with lots of contributions from a wide variety of ECM artists old and new Got a discography at the back for all of their releases so far and quite a large section on each artist too.
  13. Ah - I didn't find it in the Hammond Zone, so I thought it wasn't there. MG In my superior and overstated way. I forgive you! -_- Go get it as its great
  14. Still playin and still loving it A
  15. MY GOD! I remember getting offered loads of the LT version of that...literally handfuls of LPs and I think they were $5 a piece and I thought I should only buy 2 or 3 Mind you I too have never seen the Japanese copy before now either ....but still $660 ouch...(ain't even that good I think)
  16. Thats because you have been busy buying fancy dancy BabY Face Willlete singles from your NEW friends at the Blues forum -_- On a serious note...can you send me the download link please as I cannot thin I have ever done this (yet)
  17. read it lots before and still laugh
  18. I will be sulking now and listening to sad nordic sounding music for the rest of the afternoon.
  19. Here is the details and a nice picture for those who ain't seen the Redman issue from the wonderful Trovar ECM site. ECM 1225 is Dewey Redman Quartet, The Struggle Continues with * Dewey Redman: Tenor Saxophone * Charles Eubanks: Piano * Mark Helias: Bass * Ed Blackwell: Drums Recorded January, 1982 at Columbia Recording Studios, New York. Produced by Robert Hurwitz.
  20. That is the Indescribablyboring (Independent) for you. As for the truth of their claim ...thats a debate for another day perhaps. I certainly have had a long affection for ECM releases ( not all of them albeit) but in general I like what they have released and are releasing now. ...and for a label that has managed to keep doing that and NOT with mainstream or pappy jazz that ain't easy in the last 30 years. As for the Dewey Redman issue...I was gazing at this the other evening after reading the older ECM book Sleeves of Desire and seeing it there. If it is as good as the Robin Kenyatta release then I would love to see it. I did not know however how little these had sold and also how that compared to other jazz releases of that period ...this was lean times for jazz without a shadow of doubt. Anybody know how many copies the Koln Concert would have shifted since release? (and another question...how the bloody hell do you guys find out? )
  21. Calm down you will have to wait like all the others
  22. Here is what it looked like Bit of fishing around might save Aric and other ECM worshippers a few bucks! Click here for the book detail ...could not upload the image evidently...( technical hitch on my behalf http://www.ecm-records.com/Catalogue/Books...=&we_start=
