  2. Yup yup...got that one on cd and its great
  3. I thought that was the case with the sealed records only coming in with Liberty Records but maybe I am wrong. You may be asked by a buyer to open it I guess. I used to think sealed meant unplayed until once when I got a 'reseal' that was clearly played ( not that much but played all the same. Years later I came across a store that had a sealer and I had to move and resealed all my records while decorating /plastering etc to keep em dust free...unsealed em afterwards when I played em but some were sold as resealed but slit open to show.
  4. First bit of good news I have read for a long while I have the other Lee Morgan book which I thoroughly enjoyed and will by this one too As for the Hank....bout time too! Yippee
  5. the ol bristolian vinyl revival is upon us? Sent you a pm
  6. wow love to see them ....got a few concerts on dvd off the tv and they cook......even if all the gags are the same!....which they are
  7. Its a nice set if only to see him working on a piece take by take especially for the price and more so if it is the LP size box Good luck!
  8. I would think that the actualisation means complete and revised ie l-z gets an update too L-z is not ready yet bu the sounds of it because of the earlier comments about the first set taking so long
  9. I always try to leave feedback when I can Had a recent issue where it went wrong and so I said so ...it backfired and I got tit for tat stuff and paypal also let me down to when I raised the issue In the end ....i learnt not worry about it As for you Dan I would write back and thank them for responding. Say that however I am still not happy and would like a refund and offer to return the item at your own cost etc postage wise If you still get no joy ask for a reduction You have then taken some steps to resolve the issue and will appear to be reasonable As for the declining standards I understand Long time ebayer here getting more pissy with it
  10. I read this...got interested then lost interest by the end of the paragraph.I wonder why Burns said that one of the motivations for the project was hearing, in the late nineties, that something like a thousand veterans of the Second World War were dying every day. That gave him a sense of urgency, without giving him any good ideas. During the publicity juggernaut for “The War” (and let history record that the ten-million-dollar marketing campaign includes “commemorative” cans of Budweiser and, as I live and breathe, oranges and eggs branded with station and time-of-broadcast information)
  11. Best thing I have seen for a while
  12. I hope he says something about con 'fusion' like he usually does Thanks for this
  13. I am really pleased about this as I had the lp and now survive after a very kind cd burn. A really decent set which I think was a great pairing of Grachan Moncur and John Patton. Cannot wait to get this (all over again) A
  14. Well out of the four I would choose....erm ...ah.....erm Well in truth I only have the original cds from way back and its sounds lovely to me...also picked up a few alt takes from 'other sources' which were nice to have....not worth it for me to shell out again for
  15. We got a whole of guys loading there bank accounts through exploitation of millions across the world.....and I do not mean the private sector. That you take for granted. I always think with this whole Wynton business if there ain't some nasty hidden agenda lurking around comments about him
  16. I knew they would never last. Just like the LP and the cylinder before that! thanks for the article Reminds me to take out the cds from the dishwasher where they are in for remastering I wonder if you could go back in time with a person with a 30 gb mp3 full of lossless music and show them where we are now...would they be impressed or saddened? Answers?
  17. I am with Kevin on this one 'we' seem to like this sort of spokesperson stuff to box things off so why not him I have never had the beef/hatred/jealousy people seem to have about him or Keith Jarret or even ( as I am going away for a few weeks and may miss the backlash) Norah JOnes There you go. Said it now. BYeee
  18. Mine would have to be the following and in no order of preference. They would be the ones I would grab if I could only have 5 too 1 Art Blakey A Night in Tunisia Blue Note 2 Donald Byrd Ethiopian Knights 3 Keith Jarrett Koln Concert ECM 4 John Coltrane A Love Supreme Impulse 5 Yann Tiersen Amelie Soundtrack They are always being played , constantly and always get me going
  19. Steady on there old bean. That sort of language may just get your countries licence to exist revoked and you will end up back as part of the the Empire! That would make Charles your king. A direct replacement /like for like for your current buffoon
  20. apologetic or apopletic? I am the latter It is an awful browser and I hate when I have to use it ( like on other peoples PCs)
  21. Jewel in the Lotus is a wonderful recording
  22. Aye it sounds like a shame. Always think if anything happens to me that the collection I have can either be sold ...to help the family and if not saleable- given away to others who like the same stuff
